http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=n6br7s6 Rockets: IN: Evan Turner Spencer Hawes OUT: Donatas Motiejunas Omer Asik Probably two of the better options on the market, plus neither would interfere with future cap space. However, also is more of a win now move which would deplete some of the assets accumulated especially if they both walk at season's end 76ers: IN: Ben Gordon Donatas Motiejunas Michael Kidd-Gilchrist OUT: Evan Turner Spencer Hawes Thadeus Young Basically rolling over two expiring assets with hope either MKD or DMo may reach potential. Not too sure they would cash in on Young quite yet, but may be enticed if they can get a pick or two out of the deal (likely 2nd round picks mind you) Hornets: IN: Omer Asik Thadeus Young OUT: Ben Gordon Michael Kidd-Gilchrist They want to make the playoffs...Why? No idea, but Asik and Young help in that regard.
These are some good names. Re Martell Webster: a) advanced stats like him a lot, and b) Washington drafted Otto Porter, a SF, with #3 overall pick in the most recent draft. And c) Trevor Ariza is also around and playing well. Webster is a good target for Houston. Re Kyle Lowry: I think Toronto would take Houston's 2014 first round pick for him. So a three-way deal where Jeremy Lin gets shipped to a third team, an expiring contract is shipped from the third team (along with Houston's 2014 first rounder) to Toronto, and Lowry + the third team's second rounder gets shipped to Houston... that would work. Advanced stats LOVE Lowry this season. Lowry is a big upgrade over Lin.
Trade Ideas A deal with the Charolette Bobcats for SG-Gerald Henderson and PG-Ramon Sessions. We give up PG-Lin, SF-Ronnie Brewer, GF-Garcia. The Details Henderson will cost 6 million for the next two years with the last year being a player option. Ramon Sessions cost is 5 million for his expiring deal. I'm assuming 11 million would be their salary cap hit. Lin's cap hit is about 8.3m for this season and next. Brewers salary is 1.186m for this lone year. Garcia salary is about 1.3m with player option next year. This comes out to about 10.78 million. Not sure if that's close enough for that straight up trade but close. Why this makes sense There's no doubt we need a solid defensive guy coming off the bench for Harden. Henderson would be a perfect defender coming off the bench and puts up good offensive numbers too. Lin is a ball-in-hands kind of guard that drives and shoots and makes things happen when he's got the rock in his hands. I think having a defensive guy like Henderson coming in for Harden is what we need and Lin, with flashes of offensive brilliance, is exactly what the Bobcats atrocious offense needs. This would be the main idea for the trade. We get a solid wing defender and capable scorer to come in behind Harden and they get a massive fan following and a solid offensive attacker in Lin. Even with a 6m deal for the next two years Henderson feels like a perfect 6th man this team needs and should hold onto, as either trade bait or just because he fits the team. Lin would be the perfect starter for the 'Cats and boost their offense more so than Henderson. With the need of a back up PG, bc yeah Brooks is a liability in backup minutes, we also pick up Ramon Sessions whose expiring contract provides a little flexibility for this offseason. Sessions would be a great backup PG for the Rockets. Also to make the cap work we throw in a solid defender in SF-Ronnie Brewer, who unfortunately hasn't seemed to fit in with the Rockets, and GF-Garcia who, when healthy, is a great 3-point specialist that would be great for the low 3pt shooting Bobcats. In the long scheme of things and also the win now mentality of the team, it seems this would be a fair beneficial trade to make. I know we're trying to score another max deal player but at least for the rest of this season and next we could have an undeniably solid group of players. If we force Asik to stay, I believe we would be the deepest team in the league with a better balance of offense and defense. Because there is no reason we shouldn't be able to win a championship with Harden and Howard alone. The third star player would be nice but I think we could get it done with two. And really Parsons IS our third star but no one wants to admit it. After Ramon Sessions deal we should try and pick up a high percentage 3 pt shooter if we don't find a way to make them ourselves. But yeah that's my two cents. Not a lot of statistical information here because I'm doing this on my phone and I have calculus I have to deal with. Seems legit to me. PG- Beverley, Sessions, Brooks, Canaan SG- Harden, Henderson SF- Parsons, Casspi PF- Jones, Motiejunas, Covington C- Howard, Asik, Smith I believe we are short one but as far as I'm aware we can sign somebody for cheap off the Vipers. Also Henderson should probably just play minutes every time either Parsons or Harden sits because they really have nobody behind them right now. Feel free to share why this wouldn't work, I really didn't look too deep into it but this is my first post so hope it's intriguing and hopefully hasn't already been posted. Convincing MJ to do it, is a whole other story. Go Rockets!!!

No way Toronto trades away Lowry for a 1st Rd pick, especially a late 1st. Lowry is balling, playing at an all star level, albeit an EC all star.
The question for Toronto is, "Do we want to re-sign Kyle Lowry to a four- or five-year extension this summer?" Which means that they would need to match, if not top, all other offers for Lowry. And with his very strong play this season, he is going to get a minimum of four years, $36 mil on the open market. If Toronto doesn't want to pay him this much money--and he appears to be a real bargain at this price--then of course they take a late first round pick for him. A late first round pick is a hell of a lot better than nothing, and nothing is exactly what Toronto gets if he walks. I still am projecting a trade for a big upgrade at PG and a very good and versatile big man. I think Omer Asik, Jeremy Lin, Donatas Motiejunas, and Houston's 2014 first round pick are shipped out and a very good PG (e.g., Kyle Lowry, Rajon Rondo, Ty Lawson) and a very good veteran big (Spencer Hawes) are shipped in. Other teams (teams that will want Asik and Lin)will need to be involved, obviously.
I still believe that Morey should kick the tires with the Knicks. Would love to have Melo here with Dwight and Harden.
I agree with you on these points---the PG, the big man (if we're lucky)---but I cannot imagine Ty Lawson being up for grabs. Denver would be intergalactically stupid to trade him.
Denver may do this- http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pupzc8m Houston IN - Lawson, Foye, and Fournier PLUS picks OUT - Harden and DMo Denver IN - Harden and DMo OUT - Lawson, Foye, and Fournier PLUS picks would you? I would
Denver will not accept this trade, they wants also Magee for Howard,so IN - Harden and DMo plus Howard OUT - Lawson, Foye, Magee and Fournier PLUS picks
Maybe just the last - dumb; but Harden is not the SUPERSTAR most think he is. He is starting to look like a ball hog, chunker, that does not play both sides of the ball every night. AND DMo shows promise but not consistence. Lawson is the real deal, IMO. The other Foye and Fournier both fit well with Howard / Melo. LOF --> NYC Lin, Parsons and Asik plus picks for Melo WE would be a better TEAM: Lawson, Foye/Fournier, Melo, Jones, Howard But I am just "Iced in" on a boring day...
I think just Harden straight up would get that done, no need to include Howard and DMO. But seems like an awful trade for us. Harden for Melo would be much better for us.
Haha, it is only a jock Morey will not trade Harden & Howard in two yeas at least , otherwise he can't recruit any free agents to Houston again
