It's been so long, honestly who could remember. Plays that stand out from 20+ years ago likely aren't representative of how Rice really scored most of his TDs.

Wouldn't it just be better to look at the stats? I'm not sure where those stats are, though I'd imagine there are stats. Jerry Rice TD receptions of less than 15 yards, or something like that.

I'll be dubious that the reason AJ doesn't have as many TDs as some of the other guys because he failed to break 40+ yard plays that started out as 8 yard slants, until someone shows me that's definitely the reason.

Like you said, probably a factor... but I'd assume way down the list

But now we're just making up #'s. Well, maybe he'd catch 2 more TDs a year.

To one of my original points in this thread... sometimes you just don't know. The difference between Kurt Warner being in the HOF and sacking groceries is a pre-season injury to the QB ahead of him.

The difference between AJ in one system versus the other from a TD perspective could be an extra 6 TDs a year for all I know. Conversely, it might mean a 25% drop in yearly receptions and yards. Who knows...

...in all cases, he'd still be a freaking great receiver. Unlike a Warner, AJ was always known to have the skills, and basically since day 1 you knew he'd be a great great receiver...

With his health issues, city and family ties and a healthy bank, he ought to just take a year off and get involved in charity work.

Big 2014 season to be expected for Ray Rice (barring health issues) and Benard Pierce.

Rico as O-line coach and Kub and Shanny as co-coordinators? I just couldn't see Shanahan going back down to QB coach.

    Why not?

He was never "qualified" to be an O-coordinator as is, with him basically running Kubiak's system the 1 year he called plays here, and getting a job in Washington because of his dad.

His career path has been accelerated greatly more because of his last name, and less because of his merits. Why would anybody hire him as an O-coordinator, especially after the debacle of last season, and no real track record of succeeding on his own.

Like Munchack, he should be lucky to still have the chance of having a job in coaching in this league... and take whatever opportunity he gets.

Probably would be a good move for the ravens because their running game has been horrible.

It would be a smart move for the Ravens bringing in Kubiak, they don't really have much to work with on offense, so bring in someone who can make the most of it.

Ray Rice is probably somewhere doing backflips right now.....

Also, I'd say the Texans' offense never looked as good as when Shanahan Jr. was the OC here. It obviously has a lot to do with the offensive line peaking, but the offense just ran really smoothly when he was here.

Is there somewhere that I can bet on the Ravens signing Schaub as Flacco's backup?

Will he be booed next year at the game in Houston? My guess would be no.

The typical Texans fan in me (the one that is accustomed to being repeatedly kicked in the nuts) tells me that he will come to Reliant and kill us. The other part of me hopes that Crennel's defense will know how to stop that offense the same way as the other 31 teams in the NFL seem to know how to do.

Ravens must like hiring 2-14 coaches as OC's
