Wasn't last year like the first year the grizzled ever won a playoff series and people actually knew who they were? That's sad enough on its own, I pity that and commend the fact that you can publicly call yourself a grizzlies fan without being ridiculed. I think it got so bad that you didn't even want to follow them at one point?

    Yep.

Look.... RIGHT NOW the Rockets would be a better team with Lee and Bass coming off the bench.... That's a given.

But that doesn't mean the deal was a good deal by a long shot. That deal was extremely short sited and the contracts of Bass and more so with Lee would have kept the Rockets locked in with this roster for the foreseeable future. No ability to upgrade whatsoever.

I think Morey is, like many fans on here are not, realistic about this roster and knows that they are going to need at least one more true impact player before he fills in the other pieces with solid veteran types. Unless that draft pick was a for sure lottery pick this year, the deal was not a good deal, and Morey did the right thing by passing on it.... even if it sucks that the Rockets are going to be without solid veterans that might cost them a Memphis game or two.

As for James Johnson.... There is a reason why a 4 year player had to go back to the D-League to prove himself again. He's not proven that he can be the guy he is right this second for Memphis for a full season without doing James Johnson things again that land him on the bench. Only time will tell if Morey did the right thing by not cutting Brewer and signing Johnson. IMO, Johnson wasn't even the player I would have taken off of the Vipers. I'd go for Troy Daniels well before I went for Johnson.

But good for Memphis.... The NBA needs to adjust them to the Eastern conference as soon as they move a team to Seattle. There is no reason why a team in Memphis, Tennessee should be considered in the West of the USA... The NBA needs to get a freaking map for crying out loud.

Enjoy the lottery. Hilarious if you think those teams consider Memphis a rival

I'm sure blake griffin/deandre jordan and kendrick perkins who LOVE to see Zach and Marc.

there is a stat somewhere that says the grizzlies and the clippers have see each other the most in the last 3 years.

fact of the matter is the grizzlies have wins against each one of those teams in the playoffs in the last three years.

How many wins do the rockets have? The rockets don't even have a rival anymore, and they never have had one, except the imaginary jazz/spurs rival and that is only because the spurs made themselves into the best texas team in the NBA and the jazz took the rockets out in the playoffs 20 years ago.

maybe okc gets jacked up to beat the rockets because of harden and maybe the same goes for the lakers and dwight, but really those teams don't care about the rockets as a team.

memphis is a one-on-one perimeter scorer away from being a true contender

The grizzlies, while on this board might not get no respect, the national media all check for the grizzlies. Marc Stein put them in the top 10 based on Marc coming back. When the national media talk about the rockets it's about what they NEED to be a contender.

The grizzlies get respect because they've done it in the playoffs under duress.

the rockets have a myriad of problems down to their fundamental game philosophy..

the grizzlies have a sound philosophy and a tested style of play. they just lack a 4th quarter breakdown scorer to take pressure off of the inside.. with courtney lee making tony allen redundant, even though he is gritty and fits the grizz perfectly.. maybe they can package tony allen with young players or picks to get a backcourt scorer, to be a 6th man.

20 years ago...got short term memory loss brah?

Given that Pau Gasol (current laker LOL) is the best player your franchise has ever had, and your team will probably move to another city again, save yourself the trouble of creating a thread saying you will find a new team next time.

Tbh, the Grizzlies should probably tank...I think they are right at .500 right now? You won't have much to watch this year, but its not like you have ever had anything to watch save last year so it shouldn't make much of a difference. The lottery is the best chance they have and there is no shame in it.

Getting to the Conference Finals just once since 1995 does not actually mean your team had "playoff success".

Ask these two if you really want to know what "success" is. :)

The best player the grizzlies ever had right now is probably Marc, but in the near future it will be Mike Conley by a mile. Pau Gasol was terrible for this team.

Name 1 General Manager who has never made a mistake? You should also know, if you followed the league long enough, a better move can always come along. We may, in 5 years, look back and be thankful Morey held out.

We only need one more back up Center to play along side Howard. So they can play Randolph and Gasol. Asik defense them pretty well.
And we got to hit our 3s

Plus idk what's happening to Lin and casspi.

Aren't you the same guy who posted a topic looking for a new team to root for since you were done with the Grizzlies because of their front office?

I wish I had a search function to look it up.
