Their record and advance stats don't lie. Howard isn't the best center and LMA is clearly a better overall player than Howard. Our PG rotation has dealt with injuries all season and our 48 minutes of elite rim protection has about 14 minutes injured on the bench. Our best SG has dealt with an ankle issue for most of first third of the season. Our best perimeter defender broke his hand and spent a month sidelined. Our back up PG and 6th man has spent time in out of the lineup with various injuries. Our glue guy has had back issues. Our schedule has been brutal compared to the rest of the league. I know it scares people that the world is a complicated and they often find an easy scapegoat to soothe mind, but we ain't that talented here on 1/25/14 especially with Asik (probably 3 best player on the team when healthy and engaged) on the bench. Would I like the best coach possible? Absolutely. Is McHale the difference between a WHOPPING 6 1/2 games back now and having the number 1 seed or 2 games from home court? Hell no.
and what exactly did McHale do to help in those wins? Sit on the sidelines and watch Harden hit big shots? Be forced to leave Lin the majority of one of the Spurs game cause Bev was hurt? Time after time if this team needs a clutch bucket or defensive stop out of a time out, he doesnt put his players in a position to succeed.
I'm sorry, are we not 2 games out of home court advantage? I know it's the logic on this board that if simply had the least a "decent" coach then we would be 1 in the west!!!!!! Or maybe just 2 games better for home court? Or maybe 1st in our division! But, what was your positional expectations this season? 4th seed? 3rd seed? 2nd seed?
He was a key to recruiting Howard. Morey wanted a recruiter that could attract players since we didn't have Harden yet.
Whatever our expectations were, it maybe time to downgrade them just a bit. C'mon guys, lets make the playoffs!!! Barely!!! Again!!
So are you suggesting we are on the same level as those teams in spite of McHale..... You sound like this is your first season of basketball. You got a point or something or just not intelligent enough to take a big picture of the Roxs team. Don't be a newb and stop basing your facts on individual games. Step back and look at the big picture and maybe you'll get your ***** straight.
One question - is Sampson the real puppet master? When he was gone we played an entirely different brand of bball and then he came back and that style literally went out the window. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, dunno.
Downgrade them because you are too weak to stomach loses on a 5th seed team in the ultra competitive west? Locate your testicles before hitting that panic button and firing a coach over the internet.
He had some type of influence. You can see it but at the end of the day he still a clap meter. What I don't like seeing is JB Bickerstaff overpowering Mchale on the clap clap approach. And that mother****ing mime of Finch. Bro, do you even talk?
I was kinda joking testicle guy. Don't pop a vein over it. Life is more important than bball, even yours.
McHale is another Kubiak - nice guy, terrible coach. Wishing for success is not going to bring success.
I think so. Maybe folks would make less stupid comments if there was a consequence. Seriously, look at the intelligence level of most of the comments in this thread. People want to fire McFail and are sick of his "system"..... but give an alternative. Well your kinda joke wasn't too funny. Life is more important than bball..... but....who is arguing otherwise besides you since you clearly can't back up your previous comment.
That's why I'm not crazy about this whole "fire McHale" idea - not when the next man in line could be even worse.
You are the one suggesting that they aren't. It's actually quite simple, at least it is to most people. They can play up to any team in the NBA...but then also will PLAY DOWN to any team in the NBA... Don't give me this "So and so loses to bad teams too!" BS. The Rockets struggle with bad teams consistently. This "They are not that talented" BS when they have two superstars, most teams in the NBA do all they can to get the kind of roster the Rockets have right now. Ultra competitive west...tough ****. The Blazers are doing just fine. Yeah, the big picture is McHale has been here for a while and NOTHING has changed. He still doesn't run many set plays (Ex-players confirmed this...EVEN Mchale himself confirms this.) PEOPLE have given a alternative, maybe you are the one who needs to watch more basketball huh? Here is an alternative. Run a F'n play. There's an alternative for you.
Also, I guess dmomoney is the only rocket fan content with the Rockets being playoff fodder in the west. Most people that want to get rid of Mchale want more out of this team. Deep playoff runs and being a legit contendre. I'm sorry, this gimmick ball is not what wins championships. D'antoni did it better. When it comes down to clutch situations you need to be able to rely on set plays...and you also need to understand basic things like how Parsons is not a guy you want running the PNR when you have Lin and Harden on the court. If you think run'n gun freestyle basketball is what wins you rings then you are the one that hasn't been watching much of the NBA.
I would hope Morey would know better than to s**tcan a coach and replace him with a worse one. You replace McHale, you go after a George Karl.
So in your mind, mchale is doing a good job? Let me get this straight, we are getting beat in the west regularly. And we only live by defeating the east. Could you imagine what happens if we fall out of the play off picture? We'd be the laughing stock of the NBA. A string of losses could mean we'll be fighting for play off contention because the west is super competitive.
