I only caught the last round and a half cause I was watching some bull**** in Memphis.

It was really a split decision?

I could have honestly saw it going either way, although I gave the edge to Benson. Thomson started out really strong. He had quite a few takedowns and great positions. Then, he hurt his hand after the first or second round and things changed.

Was the main event last night considered entertaining by dedicated UFC fans? I have been giving UFC a chance every few months and it almost always puts me to sleep. Trying to decide whether or not to give up.

No this was a pretty crappy event. I knew it when the fight card was announced it could be very lackluster. They should never put 2 heavyweights and 2 wrestlers as the co-main and main event on a Fox card..makes no sense at all. The PPV card next Saturday should be good (Faber vs Barao II, Aldo vs Lamas).

If you are interested in the art of the sport yes, if you are a fan of the sport no. It really depends if that is your first fight then it would probably turn you off, almost like your first basketball game being the Spurs Piston finals (great actual basketball but not highlight filled).

Funny thing is Thomson and Bendo have striking backgrounds, they are so evenly matched and developed great all around games.

The problem is they're both grind it out type fighters which is not a good look for a mass casual audience on national TV. Thomson's finish of Diaz was more an anomaly compared to his last 5 years where all his fights have been decisions. Same with Bendo. Think it would've been smart to switch Aldo vs Lamas from next weekend's event with this fight but too late for that. They shouldn't have put any heavyweights on the main card unless it's Cain,JDS, Hunt or Browne.

Hey guys, is there any way to watch the UFC cards on the PS4? I know I can watch it on the PS3 through their Live Event Viewer app, but last I checked it wasn't on the PS4.

Sadly, A high percentage of the UFC guys are animals with no brains outside of the octagon. This gives the sport a pretty poor image. I believe that combined with the concussion studies yet to come on these guys as they age will be the end of the sport. It's just a matter of time IMO, probably a long time but it will cease to exist at some point in the future. Football as well.
