Please stop comparing Wilson and Manziel They are completely different qbs The only thing they have in common is height and both are quick
You were crying in the other thread about how Russell is the reason you won't no parts of Johnny during the Seattle vs San Francisco game. You were saying they are one in the same... And now you're moon walking.
Have you not watched them play???? Have you not seen any of the playoffs?????? Manning and Flacco stepped up for their teams, what are you talking about????? Also if you have seen Favre play????? Stafford play????? You would realize they are gunslingers with elite arms and a knack for unconventional passing methods
You had no idea what I was talking about. Wilson is too short to play the pocket, when penetration gets up the middle and you play contain, you take away his throwing lanes, limiting his effectiveness as a passer greatly Keep in mind Wilson is world perhaps eons better as a pro passer than Manziel
Why you asking me when you ACT like you know everything. But I saw Eli and Flacco throw up some "OMG that should have been intercepted" passes. Guess you missed those. And TJ Yates has won more playoff games than Stafford. That dude is garbage. Still throwing side arm and off his back foot after all these years. Rodgers and Cutler even missed games and Stafford still couldn't win the division. Farve WON games. There is no comparison.
I don't think you have no idea what you're taking about... Because you say that about Russell. But you riding Brees and he's not much taller.
You are so far off base it's funny. Wilson constantly scrambles around and out of the pocket to avoid pressure. Manziel does the same thing. Wilson also beats teams by running, some on designed QB runs...oddly also similar to Manziel. If you think Manziel can't pass, you obviously haven't seen him play much. After the bowl game, all the ESPN analysts came out and said that he proved in that game that he can make all the throws required in the NFL. Also, Manziel is closer in size to Drew Brees than he is to a Russell Wilson. However his game is abilities are very similar to Wilson. I watched every game of Manziel's college career and every Seahawk game the last two seasons.
I agree with everything you said except the size. Manziel is 5'11" at best. I will say this about Manziel. I missed the DUKE game on NY's eve but after watching it last night I saw him stay in the pocket more than all all of the other games combined. Not saying was great at it but at times he was good enough to make me believe he could get better. Which leads me to believe he could do it at the next level. But I have to be honest the size thing will be an issue. Still he is an amazing runner and you got to give him bonus points for that. So maybe they cancel out. If he can become a decent pocket passer with that running there's a chance he could become special. Still it's a risk, not one I would take especially with Bridgewater on the board.
Its not about throwing the ball chief Its about reading defenses, making right reads, going through progressions NFL is about being smart
Manziel could be compared to RW in that they'll have to be used in a similar manner. You won't want Manziel throwing the ball more than...well any QB in the NFL so he'd have to be the newly popular "game manager with wheels" style of QB. The problem is that Manziel doesn't make very good decisions with the ball and a game manager can't be throwing interceptions the few times he's allowed to pass the ball. It would take a VERY clever coach to be able to use JFF effectively in the NFL due to all of his shortcomings as a QB. However, the hype surrounding him will ensure that someone tries to force that square peg into the round hole that is the NFL.
Anyone who uses this to prove a point has zero credibility. Final score was 31-10, Foster with 2 tds and Watt with a pick 6. Yates was 11 of 20 for 159 yards and 5 of which were to Andre who had a TD also. TJ hardly won that game for us and is a terrible QB. So please shut up with the "TJ winnz all teh plyoffz gamez"
Russell Wilson hasn't been doing much more to help Seattle win than what T.J. did against Cincinnati. Russell is averaging the least passing attempts amongst QBs in the playoffs with the least yards and has only ran for 16 yards in two games. So you can't act like Russell is carrying Seattle to the super bowl with his production (or lack thereof) and not give T.J. any credit for helping the Texans win a playoff game. That calls your credibility into question sir... What say you...???
It doesn't take a genius to have your QB make one or two reads and or take off running if the play isn't there. Kubiak has been getting away with that for years with only having Schaub go through one or two reads. And with the new rules and the use of the pistol formation it wouldn't be that hard. Having Johnny on the field will also make the running back more effective if defenses decide to use a spy on Johnny so that could be just as effective without him throwing more.
It is about throwing the ball also.. Because if your quarterback can't make the throws he's useless. And the NFL is about being smart but talent has a lot to do with it as well. Not just because a kid can read college defenses which really doesn't indicate how good they will or won't be at the next level.
What? Wilson was tied for 9th in TD passes, 7th for QB Rating, 12th in completion %.... Also 500+ yards rushing with a 5+ YPC & 30 FD. You should stop undermining Russell Wilson. It's not good for your look.
He was 22nd in pass attempts (just slightly above what Matt Schaub had in 8 starts), 28th in yards per game (slightly above Matt Cassel), and somehow despite throwing the ball less than pretty much anyone else in the league he still managed to throw 9 interceptions. In his career he has 3 games where he's passed for over 300 yards and 8 where he's thrown for under 150....that's more than 20% of games he's played in for his entire career. Let's look at this another way, he's had more games where he's thrown more interceptions than TD's than games where he's thrown for over 300 yards. He's a game manager. He happens to be a game manager on a team with an amazing defense, and he does have some scrambling ability, but he's still just a game manager.
