you dont have to have done anything in order to make it .. case in point.. korver and hayward.. what have they or their teams accomplished? isnt korver a "specialist?" oh and what about bradley beal, how many teams is he and the wiz bashing now days? isnt faried also a "specialist"?

And whats wrong with a GM standing up for his players? Who cares what kinda rep we get in the national media, last time I checked we dont play in a BCS type league where media vote counts in deciding anything

He is showing up in more games than harden and is more consistent. Only downfall is his lack of speed and athletic ability compared to others at his position

so you can name 5 sf averaging better than 17.6 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals? while shooting 51% from the field and 41% from 3s? please lets start listing

I like how he said he's never felt that feeling before on a Basketballl Court and was unconscious and numb. Parsons went into Super Sayin, Johnny Torch Super Nova mode last night!!!

Just because he thinks it's a joke doesn't mean he is not working on his game. He is one of the most improved players in the league.

I'm fine with him complaining and having a chip on his shoulder, that's what makes Parsons strive. He's overcome the odds, being drafted low and far exceeding expectations. You can hear it in his voice during the playoffs last year how pissed he was when we lost, you saw he responded and helped the team. I'm tired of Houston teams have choir boys that don't complain, I'm fine with this.

Parsons deserved to make it over Korver and Hayward, but the thing they have over him is their positional flexibility, since they've played both SG and SF.

See, this is why Korver beat Parsons out. Korver has that feeling all the time.

Actually, of the three guys that believed they were snubbed (Howard and Harden for ASG, Parsons for Team USA), only one of the three seemed to show it last night. LMA put 40 up in response to his snub, and Parsons 34 for his. Howard and Harden? Not so much...

While I agree that Parsons is snubbed, I am happy that he got snubbed. Why risk possibly injury for something as dumb as Olympics Basketball?

Shut your dirty mouth, no way Ashton Kutcher beats Parsons out in the shooting or looks department.

This is the most telling post in this thread.... Parsons is going to want to be paid, and with how the Rockets have played without him, he will get paid.

I'm not asking for more of him.

I was addressing the thought that this"snub" will motivate him to another level going forward. I'm not sure that it will and don't believe one out of body performance is an indication of things to come. In fact, i'd be a little disappointed if it did because it would mean he had more left in the tank than he's been showing this season. He would be running on feelings and emotions, not actual improvement, so that could go away, once he feels he's earned more respect. The motivation should really play out in the summer, by him working harder to improve as a player, and making the changes permanent.

And i'm guessing you left me this gem of a rep:

Perhaps it seems that way, without context. However, given what we know about the selections, CP's complaining isn't really justified. Just because he gave an honest answer doesn't make what he said true. I'm JR smith thought his punishment for lacegate was a joke too, but that doesn't mean what he thought about it was right. Apples to oranges, I know, but i think it addresses my point.

Definitely upset about the loss, who wouldn't be?

And let me remind you I was one of the few people here who thought CP could actually make the team, when the majority thought he was an untalented scrub who wouldn't last past his rookie season. I've been one of his biggest supporters to date.

Yes, Korver is a specialist. That's my point. CP is stuck at a level that wasn't attractive enough to be selected. They wanted the all-stars and a few specialists. CP fit in between, much like Hayward, but Hayward probably got the nod because he'd be better at adapting to a lineup and showed poise in the final four. chandler really hasn't had the opportunity to display the same in that kind of high pressure situation.

Media votes don't decide anything? How about the MVP award?? It may not be a ring, but obviously awards and recognition are important tot he team and Morey, so yeah, media and fan perception would definitely matter. That's why neither of our max player could get enough votes to start the AS game.

Given the list, even if Parsons name was on there, there's no guarantee he makes the Final 12.

Parsons can use this as motivation and keep balling and get another shot for 2016, and if his game is on par, there' still 2019.

I didn't mean to imply he wasn't. Maybe I should have said "keep working" to be more clear.

It's not even Olympic Basketball, which will be in 2016. This is technically the FIBA World Cup and becomes a qualification for the Olympics. So if he keeps improving, he still has chances in the future.

All that screamed to me is he's going to want to HUGE money this off-season or the next.

He's going to want to be paid what he thinks he's worth(which is more than he actually is) plus makeup for being underpaid the past 3-4 years.
