The developers wanted the game to compete with Halo and Gears of War, not modern CoD and Battlefield. They said this when they thought it was going to be on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. That's the primary reason, they feel their game play sweet spot is 6v6.

Remember, CoD Modern Warfare 2 - which Respawn developers developed, had a max team size of 9v9. MW1 and MW2 are generally regarded as the best and most balanced FPS multiplayer games ever (at least modern generation). In Infinity Ward we trust.

Titanfall is 6v6 PLUS Titans (12v12) and AI (hundreds). They stayed with what they are good at, and that is medium sized competitive FPS. I personally feel they have put the Halo franchise in their cross-hairs as the definitive competitive gaming experience on Xbox (think eSports).

You post this a lot, but COD has been going downhill since COD4. On top of that, it's only half of Infinity Ward as West has left Respawn. I know it's your job to hype up everything Xbox, but it's annoying seeing the same posts a million times.

There is a reason for that decline in Infinity Ward games. The Infinity Ward founders, who created CoD:MW1 and CoD:MW2 were fired by Activision and therefore left Infinity Ward in 2010.

They immediately started Respawn (with the help of EA funding) and took 38 of the 43 Infinity Ward developers with them to Respawn in 2010. So the "Infinity Ward" that exists today, isn't Infinity Ward - they're just a name, none of the original team is there. The brilliance behind the original Infinity Ward and Modern Warfare 1 and 2, is now Respawn Entertainment. The makers of Titanfall.

Wow I didnt even know the one of the co founder was gone. But I believe respawn will be more than half as good as IW used to be. Plus EA is much better than Activision.

It isn't my job to hype Xbox, I don't even work in the same division and I don't get a bonus for each Xbox One sold. I simply correct people who are wrong. Like those that say that Titanfall will be hampered by Xbox One's hardware - when the game was developed on Source Engine for PS3 and Xbox 360. Source engine is over a decade old, and they made that decision in 2010.

That the reason for six vs. six has nothing to do with Xbox One. I've played probably about 15 hours of Titanfall - and they made the decision because it makes for a great game. MW2 was 9v9, and no Titans - and it was the best modern FPS there has ever been to date.

If people would stop posting BS, I would stop rebuffing them with these things called facts. I know a lot more about Microsoft than the average bear, and that's a fact. Nearly every single person that has played Titanfall has fallen in love with it, and that is a fact. So you can make up all the BS you want, but it is and will continue to be the best game of the new generation for the foreseeable future.

West left Respawn due to family issues. That was the statement from both Respawn and West. 48 IW employees and developers left for Respawn in 2010 - it is unclear exactly how many remain, but it is clear that the vast majority of Respawn's current team - are those that brought us MW1 and MW2.

Or, you know, maybe they're people who are incredibly tired of shooters and honestly don't give a crap about Titanfall?

I'm starting to wish there was a gaming thread here that was about "next gen games EXCEPT Titanfall." Because this thread has become nothing but Xbox One lovers talking about how great Titanfall is, and PS4 fans disagreeing. Can we move on, maybe?

As for me... sure, Titanfall looks reasonably fun. But not at all a system-seller for me. I'll pick it up when it's cheap. X for the the Wii U though? That's a system-seller for me. I pretty much bought a Wii U because of the trailer for X.

Do a double take on the title of this thread. Now look at the poster you are quoting and his last post. He's obviously some teenage kid who cares a lot about his Xbox. Let him defend it from the naysayers. The reason Xbox One owners are so defensive is because they spent $540 on inferior hardware with promises of it getting better (Titanfall will save the day!). There's a reason most PS4 owners don't post in this thread anymore. We are too grown for this kiddy ****. The sad thing is reverse Titanfall with 1080p and this kid will be saying you can play your stupid wannabe Halo game in 720p while I enjoy all of my games in 1080p. He is a fanboy. That's how it operates. There is no reasoning with it. Just let it be. I mean just look at this post:

It makes absolutely no sense. If the Xbox had the hardware to efficiently run Titanfall in 1080p smoothly without huge load times and lag then it would be in 1080p. The problem is the hardware.

You can have your thread back, Mr. Scarface. Xbox good, PS4 bad. Xbox will sell more consoles, guys. Don't blame Microsoft because only one country wants to buy their console. I play my video games on a 21" monitor (console or PC) and game on a gaming chair.

Please enjoy the video games that were designed for you, Mr. Scarface.

I agree we should stop talking about the online only 6 on 6 with AI below 720p now. I still respect respawn for the decisions they made. On top of that they brilliantly removed any weapon recoil that holds the game back to further fit xboners taste. That is ground breaking.

I also would like to appologize for calling tiranfall the best below 720p game this generation. That was not a rational prediction. The xbone has great potential and will have lots of big titles in this category coming out through out the generation.

Now lets talk about something else. Sales wise I expect the numbers from both consoles to be very close except in Europe and Japan.

They might be close in Australia.

And maybe Brazil since PS4 is ~$1800.

    Oh yeah, that reminds me:
Maybe one of the others can give you a better/more optimistic answer. But generally, MS hasn't really cared much about their customers outside of the US. Their #1 priority is always about catering to the US audience. If they can add some of those things to other regions, they will, but it always seems very low priority.

A lot of the great XB features tend to be less important outside of the US. Part of the reason the platform doesn't do as well outside of the US (a bit of a chicken and egg problem perhaps).

    Do you want a tissue?:(

LOL. Teenager? No. LOL. Your post is the CLASSIC example of PS4 fanboy-ism. Ok...So, why can't the mighty PS4 run BF4 at 1080p, 60 fps? 900p is the BF4 res. for PS4. I thought the MIGHTY PS4 didn't need optimization? The system comes out Sony's MAGICALLY "womb" ready to run any game at max resolution and frame and all you have to do is put a couple if lines of code together, right?

I've personally been in discussions where the CVP of Xbox has gone in to great detail as to the goals for other regions. I can assure you that they make other regions a priority - the problem is and continues to be licensing hurdles. I can't really go in to much more than that.

Microsoft continually has to clear roadblocks put in place when they try to bundle services outside of the US - thanks mainly to the European Union. Their goal is to have every single feature on the Xbox One, available in every single region it is sold. This is a huge reason (along with Kinect language support) that they only launched in 13 regions.

Clutch fans and it's lack of editing...grrrrr. Should be Sony's MAGICAL "womb" and frame rate. LOL.

Trust me, you're the one who needs a box of tissues in this thread for all 3 eyes. I think you cream your pants every time you mention Titanfall.

PS4 fanboy? Hardly. So far the only game you guys keep mentioning is an Xbox/PC game that I have no interest in. I learned my lesson with Ghosts. If you are going to buy a shooter then get it on PC. Titanfall looks like a game I'd get tired of after 1 hour tops. It's gimmicky and the no recoil is stupid because every gun can and will be used to snipe you from across the map by a camper when you're doing all of those stupid moves in the air to get on buildings. Not worth $60. And from what I heard BF4 has extremely large maps. Plus it's made by EA (who is also the developer of your Titanfall game as well) and they've sucked at developing games for the past decade. So the PS4 might not be able to handle the Battlefield series in 1080p, so what? 900 is still higher and better than 720p.

And why do you call me a PS4 fanboy like it's a bad thing if you are a fanboy yourself? Oh, it's because Sony evil and Microsoft less evil. This blind loyalty, err disloyalty is the reason people sill shell out their entire paycheck for an iPhone. You can't fall in love with a company trying to make money, especially over one product (the 360).

Titanfall and Infamous will sell well to the teenagers/fanboys. The only company to actually employ physics in their game is Valve. Titanfall, along with every other game so far, fails to employ a physics engine.

PS4 vs. Xbox One speed test results

    Cold boot to main dashboard
    PS4: 20 seconds — Xbox One: 1 minute 5 seconds
    Standby/hibernate to dashboard
    PS4: 3 seconds — Xbox One: 12 seconds
Installing NBA 2K14 from disc –
PS4: 36 minutes – Xbox One: 46 minutes (see note below)
Time for NBA 2K14 to be playable after inserting disc –
    PS4: Instant — Xbox One: 6 minutes
Time to load NBA 2K14 main menu from the dashboard –
    PS4: 38.7 seconds — Xbox One: 29.6 seconds
Time to load a playable Quick Match in NBA 2K14 from main menu –
    PS4: 37.6 seconds — Xbox One: 31.4 seconds

It appears they may have used CD for PS4 and the hard drive version (which loads faster) for the 360 so the last two results should be ignored.

No wonder Mr. Scarface has so much time to post.

Wii U = Clearly best system EVAR! Loozers!

    kbye

...no seriously though, I wish they'd at least give a release date for this. It's definitely one of my top 3 most anticipated releases, along with Dark Souls 2 and FFX HD (sorta sad that not only do I feel there are more good games coming out for last gen still, one of them is a re-release...).

I definitely want to play the new Assassin's Creed on a next-gen system, and I will buy a PS4 for when Fifa 15 comes out. But there still isn't a true system-seller for me on PS4 or Xbox One.

Thank you! Buying a PS4 or XB1 for the exclusives this early on when over 95% of games will end up on both consoles is stupid.

There aren't any system sellers and real gamers (not fanboys) know it.

BF4 uses a Physics engine, as does FIFA, Madden, and NBA Live....

Because....I have no blind loyalty. I'm not a MS fan. I'm typing on my Macbook Pro, looking at something on my iPad, which is sitting next to my Rooted Android phone, as I play the XB1 on my Panasonic TV, while looking at Directv on a Sony TV. I will eventually get an PS4 (I had a PS3 that I gave to my kid). So, your theory about LOVING MS is uninformed. The reason I got an XB1 first is I play in a league that went from the 360 to the XB1. LOL. Microsoft is evil...Sony is worse...doesn't mean I will not buy their products if need be.

BTW....the Iphone sells because is still the best overall handset on the market. Many people don't want phablets (Im not necessarily one other...I current use a S3...modded to custom Rom).

All of those games are EA. EA sucks. True gamers know this. You can keep loving Titanfall and beating that dead horse, but it's still an EA game.

You are a blind fan. You said Sony was the lesser of two evils. That means you will blindly support one over the other. None of that means anything because you had an automatic preference before buying one of the consoles. You and your clan can bash PS4 all day, but it sounds like you didn't choose which console to buy based on what YOU wanted.

As for the iPhone 5s, I agree, it's the best. Factor in price and it's not. I can't go back to the small iPhone screen. There are other phones which give you as much as the iPhone 5s for less.
