Agreed. If Jeremy Played with Harden and Dwight more and more, his +/- would go down to like NEGATIVE 52 to NEGATIVE 54. The guy should not be playing in the NBA. He should go do some stupid stuff like macroeconomics for LOSERS. haha.

His last game was terrible this game was horrible. Come on man 35mins of play and only 2 assist? Not to mention that he shoots way too much for a defensive purpose guy. 2-9 last game 1-11 this game. He rarely ever shuts down his OPP so until I see some amazing result I consider his D overrated and exposed. I like bev but yall riding him like he's the all star starter with energy that everyone just can't wait to start.

I disagree. He can play defence. The biggest reason I see is that he takes touches away from Harden and Dwight which is a pretty massive impact. As seen in today's game, if Harden/Dwight isn't hitting their shot, then the result is the same like our 1st qtr.

Bev is coming off an injury. So, you got to wait and let him play through it. Give him a few months or so to get back to his supreme level.

Do you know that you have no idea what you're talking about. Lin can play D, and he has been doing it well lately. Although his game hasn't been the same since his injury, ever since he came back from his injury his D has been good, better than Bev's D.

You're full of chitwood. You know who plays even worse defense and is even more turnover prone? James Harden! Now tell me it's ok b/c you will give him a free pass.

Reality is that Lin's defense has been solid and Beverley's defense has been overrated. Plenty of mediocre PG's blow past Bev repeatedly. Go back and look at the games and the stats for opposing point guards against Bev.

Defense- Bev (and not by that much)
    Shooting- Lin
    Playmaking- Lin
Ability to draw the defense- Lin

If defense is the overall factor that should be considered then Harden is a disaster too. But guess what? He does a lot of things offensively that the other guys can't do. Just like Lin does a lot of things that Bev can't do.

The reality is that Harden wants to be the guy who has the ball most of the time. With Bev he gets that. With Lin he doesn't as much. So McFail plays Bev.

BTW- when was the last time Lin shot 1-11 and only had 2 assists but still got to play over 30 min in a game this season? Never- b/c McFail would've yanked him out after the first few missed shots. But Bev gets to stay in and take the last shot- after going 1-10! Pure genius.

Bev is who he is. He was playing like that before the injury. He is there for defense not offense. I still stand by the fact that we have three backup PGs.

this comparison is completely irrelevant when Lin is the SG now. I'd like to see any player completely adapt to his new role going from a starter to a bench player and PG to a SG. He's asked to intentionally not play his style. (facepalm) With genius moves like these how does this team expect to get anywhere in the playoffs?

His desired style is SG. Remember? Linsanity in NY? Yet even when Harden's on the bench he struggles to turn on the aggression switch. That's no one's fault but his.

The game where Clutch should've written this article was our win @ Warriors where Beverley shut down Curry and hit huge shots at the end to seal the win.

Beverly sucks. You people need to stop overrating him. The only reason Lin is not starting is because they need his offense off the bench, and his contract is actually expensive since the talent he has mirrors some of Hardens.

No team in the NBA would trade for Patrick Beverly. Some teams would take Lin and hope to sign him for a friendlier contract after this one. Beverly is so overrated on this forum it's not even funny. Ask any neutral forum and in terms of skills and value added to the team, Lin is so much better than Beverly. This guy is, once again, overrated and contributes very little to the team.

Lol @ the guy saying to give him "a couple months" to get back to his "supreme" level. He was never at a "supreme" level, and a couple months could mean Rockets out of the playoffs (unlikely). He is who he is - a hustle player. He sucks on offense, and is too small to play real effective defense outside of pressure. Again, no team would start this guy on their team, none.

This is true. I don't think anyone is seriously arguing Beverley is a better player than Lin, or even close to the same level. This topic is about who should start (which is an asinine topic IMHO). Lin should definitely FINISH and play about 10 more minutes per game than Beverley (who is not a starting level PG in the NBA).

    yup

This is factual. 2007r telling it how it truly is. Bev holds zero trade value. Can we be honest about that. So why is Jeremy favored over bev trade wise?

Simple, bev is less than lin. That's a fact.

It really comes down to money. Is jeremy Lin 20 times better than Bev? Because Bevs contract is pocket change in comparison. No one is arguing that Bev is the better player, although I have seen people LOH's people herald him as the "greatest defender of all time." just nerd trolling lol. Unfortunately as they say " SWAG" doesn't pay the bills/ play successful defense. When KM said that in the post game I was dying lmao If there's anything to take away from all this as far as Lin goes after being traded to a new team, his committment to defense has improved to the point where he is noticeably playing better than Bev, which wasn't always the case last season. If anyone here takes offense to this, I'm a white college basketball player. Race got nothing to do with it. Just telling it like I see it.

Wish clutch didnt write this post.

The last time Clutch took a side and sticked it out for someone was Mike James, when he returned to Rox from Minne, many YOFs said he's cancer, Clutch was battling around trying to prove MJ is legit will fit, that time it didn't turn out too good for Clutch.
