Lionel Hollins got fired after going to the Western Conference Finals!! I can see the Rockets getting swept or out in 5 in the 1st round and McHale getting the boot!

Didn't James have 13 assists tonight? That means he was successful in driving and dishing to an open shooter who knocked down the jumper. Why not do that at the end of the game?

    Exactly.

Have James kick it out to Chandler or whomever and you have a decent chance to win.

I don't get why we strayed away from that early success.

    How so?

    We lost by one point.....

If any of the players would have made one more field instead of going 32 of 79.... Or made at least 1 more free throw to tie instead of 9-14......

It's just dumb to put all the blame on the coach(es) when this is clearly a team effort. So you should focus your misplaced dislike for something else.

    Glad you're such an optimist.....

It's funny how people are actually predicting failure because they are so bias against the coach.

LOL, i seriously laughed at the garbage he drew up for our final possession. I don't even think this guy knows how to draw up a play. Parsons is not off the hook however, he held on to the ball WAY TOO long there. If we want cohesion we need to get rid of McHale.

Of course, all the blame is not on McHale...

... But why let it get to that point? Who is managing that team effort? How are we going to contend if we cannot have control of the game.

Why not make just 1 more field goal or 1 more free throw? 1 less turnover? 1 more offensive rebound? 1 more steal? A game lost by 1 point is complicated.

Lastly, there are no undefeated teams. Coaches can't always manage "team effort" every play of every game. And coaches on contending teams lose close games too.

    What else ya got?

People are predicting failure because they are likely to play the Clippers in the first round and get schooled.

Hey, if McHale proves us wrong and takes us to the WCF...then cool...but at this pace we'll be 4 or 5

For such an incompetent coach, still 1 game behind the Clippers for home court advantage. Or maybe we should start a thread titled, "Luckiest Coach".

Seriously, how does he do it?

Ironically, a team with Doc Rivers as their head coach and predicted to be on OKC and Spurs level is the team we are the closest too....

Coaches decide who get to play. They decide the style of the game. If anyone is criticizing him just for the last play, he is missing the point.

I said my words before (last year, to be accurate) and I am not going to argue anymore. Let's agree to disagree at the moment and we can talk again about what he has achieved at the end of the season. There is not much point arguing now especially since McHale is here to stay until then.

Oh and no worries, I will be back to say "I told you so."

Sampson is already coaching this team. So yes, you're right - not better, Like Gob Bluth and Tony Wonder said to each other: 'same.'

    And players make the plays.......

So you are hoping we won't make it out of the second round so you can say "I told you so"?

I am not hoping it, I am predicting it. There is a big difference between the two.

I would gladly eat crow if we change our play style and end up going all the way.

Have you ever considered it is more of a talent and injury issue?

We were supposed to have 48 minutes of elite rim protection.

Of course it is. People just have a need to blame and head coaches are the perfect target in pro sports.
