If the Horns lose to Baylor, then it must mean Baylor was better. they were. I accept it. I accept we lost to Dallas and Utah. And these guys weren't close to championship teams. therefore, we weren't anywhere close either. Thank god for Daryl Morey! he's like the Steve Patterson of the team!
Oh my god. Really? Just going to accept it? Oh golly gee, just going to accept it. We gave a good job and good effort! That's real good. That's what losers and losing organizations say. No wonder why you keep bringing up the "gee golly, we came in second place in 1986!" card so much. That tiny little respect I Never had for you, I kicked that **** across curb. I just did a Terrence Jones homeless stomp on it. I'll accept it. wow man, wow. exiting this thread. Continue on with being mad or happy about the Hakeem era people.
Baylor was better, I accepted it. doesn't mean I didn't want change. Thanks for joining the thread though, I thought were you avoiding me! hahahahahhaahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahaha
Kam came, he saw, he concurred. Why do you make these options so complicated, why can't I just vote "Yes I was happy". Jeez man.
KAM! KAM! KAM! KAM! KAM! Kam's gonna keep it real, like boogie cousins You can <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Lk9yEyO9djg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Oh dream was dependable too. Even when bill Cartwright broke his eye socket, he came back led his team. He didn't Dnp on back to back games and whine to his coach. Dream got along well with all his coaches.
Dream was the best. But you got to ask the question, for so many years, after Ralph Sampson, how can Rox never pair Dream with another star player?
Can someone explain the impact Hakeem had on a normal to poor game for him. I have watched all the documentaries on him as I wasn't a fan at the time of the rockets, but what was he like during a loss, did he stink it up or what was the reason during his prime?
Dream was unstoppable in the post, we would lose if they didn't get ball to him. Also, since he's in the post, he gets lots of fouls. earlier in his career he had foul problems. dream was pretty consistent, he average 51% from the field.
Dream is one of the best Cs of all time. He would take these big men to school. But no. Not better than Jordan. I definitely agree with everything else.
Was he always a hero to houston or did it take time and the winning for him to become the legend he is today?
reading up on that time seemed to be rumblings between himself and management over an injury or something
There are 5 players on the court at a time - it was like Dream coverd 3 players at a time he was that fast on his feet. He just shut down the strong side of the court. He would 'poke' the ball away from the PG 2 or more times a game and block 2 or more shots a game. Plus put up 25 to 30 points with 10 to 15 rebounds a night. On some nights 20 to 25 rebouds or 40 plus points. He played like that for about 7 or so seasons. BUT In his early years he was a hot head and liked to fight a lot. (Sampson was the better of the 2, IMO) But the TEAM was so good (the best Rocket team of all time, IMO). Drugs and injurys whipped that team a way. Then for a the longest he was the team (the sleepy years). Rudy T. Took over a head coach and started to get the role player playing their roles and times got better (plus good draft picks and better free agent signings helped, too). Dream was is in his prime... perfect storm - the first ring. Then we traded for Drexler when the team started to hit a skid mid season after the first championship. (this was a shot needed and turned into a second championship but was the start of the end - Dream needed the ball in his hands 80% of the time and so did Drexler. they were friendly about it but the change was here plus the loss of Thorpe was felt - Dream had to do all the drity work now.) The draft piks were up for their first big contracts so we trade them for Barkley. The thought was nice but Dream, Drexler and Barkley all need the ball and there is only one ball. It almost works for a 3rd ring as Dream did most of the sacrificing by changing his game. Father time gets all of us. Drexler retires only to be replaced with Pippen. That was sad to watch - there is still just one ball - Pippen quits but still showed up to the games. TIME! - Dream needs to retire but will not - he went from the man that could cover 3 players at a time plus put up 25 points a night to player that had a hard time taking an entery pass. Tinman, as a fan it was fun but that is 20 plus years ago. PS Dream turned into class over time but he did not start that way...
Hakeem era didn't make me mad, but it may've slightly underachieved overall. It certainly didn't overachieve.
Slappy happy! It was a pleasure and a privilege to watch him play, win or lose. Of course, I was disappointed when we lost, but it seemed like we mostly won.
Let's say Rockets would lost in both finals...would you look at it as a failure or just losing 5 more games?
