He needs to get over it. He's stuck between being an all star level player and a specialist. He is what he is and they didn't need him, period.

Work on your game and stop complaining. Between this and Morey complaining about the all star selections, this team is getting a bad rep as cry babies. Harden is already seen as a flop artist and I won't even start on Dwight.

Just play ball, we ain't done anything yet.

 

MOTIVATION

 

The hell he does if it makes him play with a chip on his shoulder. We could use a little pissed off motivation on this team.

 

On Matt Thomas's radio show, he talked about this too.

A once in a lifetime performance doesn't exactly make me feel like he's going to sustain a higher level of play because he's kissed off. I would have been more impressed and confident about it with a higher level he could reach night after night.

And there are bigger problems on this team than CP. That's why we still lost.

 

Well, it's a Colangelo managed team. Not much we can do except laugh. Thankfully Team USA is so stacked it doesn't matter, but really, some of the clowns that got in over Parsons.

 

Even if Chandler doesn't deserve to be mentioned with the next crop of stars (I think he should be) I love that he thinks he should be there and considers it a snub. He needs that type of thinking to propel him forward. Personally, I love it; I don't think he is whining or crying.

Meh you guys are taking it a bit out of context and being too hard on him. You can't deny that's what he felt he just let it slip for a bare second even though he probably shouldn't have...

 

Saying it's a joke sounds like crying to me. All the other picks at his position were justifiable. CP may have accomplished a lot by beating out his draft pick status in a big way, but he's still got more to do, for longer, and at higher levels of competition to get that spot. The young guys that got in were of similar talent but had post season experience over him.

I don't think it makes a difference if he was just thinking it and it slip. Either way, it means he believes it.

An interesting take away from this interview (and the last OKC game), is a bit into how Parsons approaches in-game situations.

He mentioned how he didn't exactly know that he was breaking a record or even how bad that infamous 2nd half went. In addition, he specifically mentioned how he had a short-term memory about the first half and went against the half-time advice of driving instead of shooting. The trey he nailed to start the 2nd half felt good, so he kept shooting. In other words, his approach is very much about feel as opposed to stats.

It seems to me that he really does play in the moment and isn't explicitly thinking about getting this person involved or playing a certain way. He has an uncanny feel for the game and is able to make the smart play, when the opportunity presents itself. This is 100% the characteristic of a glue guy on a contender.

 

I think it's a joke that he's whining about not being selected. It's a bit insulting to the other selected players. He's a nice player, good shooter, but his own GM doesn't think he is that third star. Maybe he ought to get mad at Morey.

 

Reading comprehension

Morey never said Parsons can't be that 3rd star. In fact, he probably mentioned this to play on Parsons' (or Lin's) ego and challenge him to become that guy.

it is a little bit of a joke, but this is a deep league. the only questionable invite, IMO, is korver, but he is so good at his craft. could be the best shooter out of that pool, even w/ Curry. Curry is VERY GOOD, but to say Korver gives him competition speaks for itself.

Chandler is a great glue guy. But you dont really need a glue guy when in INT'L ball when youre the USA.
