No one said that they were "better than everyone else" but they are a hell of a lot better than the AAC and you know this. You wouldn't even argue the point if you weren't on the Bridgewater bandwagon. You'd be going to bat for the Sun Belt Conference if he happened to have played there.
He does that to everyone. 82% against the blitz all season long. Who does that. No one in college reads defenses like Teddy. Not many in the pros. Watch any game. Watch Florida. Watch UCF. The only team he didn't do it much to was Houston but that's because Houston didn't blitz. Only three times I saw. Houston got it. Blitzing TB was just a formula for losing. SO they just rushed for down linemen and left seven back to defend the pass. And what was even more impressive was that they destroyed the OL of UL with those 4 linemen. They got it. Louisville's OLine is pathetic and they could bet'em without blitzing. 6 flushes out of the pocket, 6 hits after he threw 3 sacks. Whoever is the DC for Houston should get a head coaching job. I don't get why more teams didn't do what Houston did. Everyone thinks Bridgewater is the only one we have to stop let's blitz him and get him. It doesn't work.
All this Teddy B hype reminds me of last year when people were talking up Arthur Brown as if he was a sure fire HOF LB. I feel like it'll end the same way with me laughing and people pretending they never hyped him up in the first place.
Well his measurables along with the moves I've seen him use in college. He's just a freak athlete that has legitimate pass rush tools. I think Clowney is a player who would go in the top 5 of any NFL draft in the history of the league. The other thing that puts it over the top IMO is that he won't be by himself. Clowney as the best player on a defense is awesome, but Clowney as the 2nd best pass rusher? Damn. That's just a nightmare scenario for any team. I don't think you get many chances to pair a talent like Clowney up with a talent like Watt so I think you jump on it whenever you can. Watt and Clowney should generate just a relentless pass rush even if the team isn't blitzing which will help everyone.
Teddy Bridgewater is very, very similar to Aaron Rodgers AS A PROSPECT. I'm not saying he'll evolve into Rodgers, but their games are extremely alike. They're hyperlinked on the chart of Bridgewater and Rodgers on the webpage.
All this Clowney hype reminds me of 2007 when people were talking up Jarmarcus Russell as if he was a sure fire HOF QB. I feel like it'll end the same way with me laughing and people pretending they never hyped him up in the first place
Really? Maybe that was the story on this board, but elsewhere he was hyped up as the next Ray Lewis. Not exaggerating at all.
Ray Lewis was monster stopping the run in college Arthur Brown did not have that monster, didn't have those instincts
That's just a terrible comparison, but not really a shocker coming from a member of the cult of Bridgewater. I imagine that ridiculous rhetoric will only get more ridiculous in the months leading up to the draft. When you have to pull the JaMarcus Russell card when talking about a DE/OLB prospect it shows you don't really have a legitimate comparison and are just being a contrarian.
JaMarcus Russell had that once in a decade or two talent 6'6 250 est lol Cannon arm Had all the physical tools to be great
Sure we can talk about this now, but last year all I heard about was how well he moved sideline to sideline and how great he was. I even remember a crazy bit done by Lance Z comparing the Ravens moving up to take him before the Texans picked as "drinking our milkshake" complete with a terrible Daniel Day Lewis impression.
And he was a QB which last time I checked, is not a DE or OLB. Do you really think that you look for the same things in QB prospects that you look for in DE/OLB prospects?
As long as Bridgewater's hands are at least 9 inches, it won't be a big deal. The fact that he wears gloves even in perfect weather makes scouts nervous that maybe he has really small hands and that can lead to problems in the NFL. It might be overblown, only time will tell.
So are you saying Charlie Strong being known as a great recruiter is false and Texas got suckered for hiring him...??? I wonder why Teddy went to Louisville when he could have probably went anywhere. Why did he pick a small school out of the spotlight. Did he not want to play on a bigger stage..?
