Stafford is the prime example of a team taking a quarterback #1 overall in the draft when they shouldn't just because they are thirsty for one instead of being patient. And you should be comparing him to Romo instead of Farve, but a worst version. Stafford is a choke artists and he's subject to paint a masterpiece ever game.

Some might say Andy Reid proved that Romeo did in fact have the horses, but wasn't getting the most out of them.

But yea... I can't fault a guy for bringing in a DC he's worked with.

Romeo was the head coach at the time and not the DC. And Romeo drafts people like Houston and the 3rd round and Wade signs off on Montgomery.

And O'Brien has never worked with Romeo. And O'Brien isn't the only one who doesn't want to work with Wade because no one is calling him.

I think it's good the team is washing off the stench from this past season and starting off fresh and got a #1 pick to boot...

Alex Smith helped turn the team around as a whole, but his impact on the KC defense would be minimal. They went from 27sacks/65PDs/7Ints/6Fumbles Recovered, to 47/99/21/15 in a single offseason.

Adding Alex Smith certainly helped their ability to sustain drives on offense, but that doesn't account for such drastic improvements on defense.

Romeo remained the defensive play caller even after being promoted to head coach. They didn't hire a replacement DC, because he retained all of those duties himself. His title was head coach, but he was the defensive coordinater as well. Maybe he was spread too thin or something, but that doesn't excuse the lack of production he got from such a talented bunch.

You're right about them not working together though. For some reason I thought their time in New England overlapped. That's my bad.

So you are going to ignore the other 31 years and base your opinion solely on last year? Bold.

    2012 - 5th
    2011 - 6th
    2010- 16th
    2009- 7th
    2008- 1st
    2007- 3rd
    2006- 1st
    2005- 6th
    2004- 30th
    2003- 16th
    2002- 5th
    2000- 12th
See how most of his teams are in the top 10 in sacks? Let's do Crennel now just for fun

    2012- 29th
    2011- 27th
    2010- 12th
    2008- 30th
    2007- 27th
    2006- 27th
    2005- 32nd
    2004- 5th (with Belichick)
    2003- 6th (with Belichick)
    2002- 20th (with Belichick)
    2001- 15th (with Belichick)
    2000- 13th

The only success rushing the passer his teams has had was under Belichick, he's not someone who is going to come in and help our pass rush.

It's crazy watching how much better these guys are than their competition in high school. Clowney busting out 99 yard runs as a RB.

Will you at least wake up to watch the Super Bowl halftime show?

I admire the job wade did in 2011, but the 2012 numbers are grossly inflated by Watt's mammoth production. There is no denying that.

Let's not forget the talent wade had over the years... Watt, Ware, Roided up Merriman.. Hell, even Patrick Kerney.

Crennel had Tamba Hali... Who is awesome, but that's it. Although he can't hold Watt or Ware's jockstrap. He had no one in Cleveland.

    To answer your question:
No, I respect Wade. But, the time was right to move on. If Romeo fails, then fire him too.

I just don't understand how he only had 3 sacks. 3!

Good... If they draft Clowney they can use him to cover for Foster as well.

I'm still one who would like to the Texans to trade down but I wouldn't be upset at all if they drafted Clowney. Worst case scenario is he's Mario Williams and that would be a win.

    I don't get it either

Thats why I believe it is a effort issue with him

He is too physically gifted to put up just 3 sacks

Some say he didn't put forth much effort because he didn't want to effect his drsft stock this past year. So they are over looking it.

So what happens the year before his contract is up???

Should he take plays off to preserve his health for free agency?

Also the reports are completely overblown, people look at a couple clips of him being winded in the middle of games and see that he doesn't have a monster sack total and assume that he's not playing hard. Very few people look into it deeper and realize that he was still getting penetration and pressuring the QB at a similar rate to last season the difference being that they game-plan for him this year so his stats went down while others on his team went up because all of the focus was on Clowney.
