Its a shame Howard and Hibbert won't start and if Popavitch ends up being the coach that picks the rest of the players I have a feeling he might snub Harden and/or Howard.

Kobe just stated that he doesn't want to play in the All Star Games.

    This.

Players like Yao and Love have undeniable skill, and anyone would want those guys on their team in pre/reg/post seasons, but I'd rather see the players with the Blake Griffins and Gerald Green skills in the ASG.

Wow it should have been Howard and Aldridge. Best Pf and the best center...

I think people saw Bargs shut Howard down and decided for Love instead.

You're on a Rockets forum and he is our player. Why do you diss your own player?

no doubt this is the Fakers (Lakers) vote that decided then final vote. Dwight and James are All Stars.

Agreed. And the Timberwolves may still make the playoffs, they have a ton of blowout wins and are 0-11 in gamed decided by 4 or less.

I'm surprised that people are more outraged over Kevin Love starting rather then Blake Griffin

Agreed. The rockets team last year was about the same talent level as the wolves this year, with a worse coach. Harden was still able to bring us to the playoffs.

1 on 1 Bargs has shut down some of the top bigs in the league

But the awful performances on National TV and the constant criticisms from Barkley and Shaq probably played into it.

Eh, popularity contest. Dwight is clearly the better player, has a much bigger impact on both ends of the floor, makes his team better etc.

    Whatever, don't really care.

    Starters should have been:
Paul (Curry since Paul is injured)
    Harden
    Durant
    Aldridge
    Howard

    And for the East:
    Wall
Wade (by default, no other competitive PG)
    George
    Anthony
    James

Bosh should have been starting. 12 and 8 are not all star numbers, I don't care if his team has the best record. These are the same rediculous people that want Lance Stephenson on the team.

Why do I feel like Lakers fans voted for Kevin Love as soon as they found out that he wanted to go to LA? Seems like the only logical reason to me since I don't think many people find Love's game entertaining.

How is it embarrassing if the ASG voting is based on popularity? Should we feel embarrassed then since our superstars Harden and Howard don't even get voted in?

They should do away with the voting and just let the coaches pick their players if this is all about skills. The fact that ASG is a charity game + show tells it all.

Come on, let's cheer for our players if they get to play in ASG, be it Harden, Howard or Lin.

Kevin Love does look better than Dwight in the box score this season, but that REALLY underrates Dwight's defensive contribution, as you can see by Minnesota's crap record.

It's a disgrace that a player from a crap-azz team can be a starter over a more dominant player from a much much more successful team.

On the other hand, the All Star game and all the festivities is just sooooo annoying and meaningless imo. It used to be cool and fun but I don't really give a darn about it. It's just a big vacation/showoff-fest for the NBA elite (they are way too in to themselves). Its like the pro bowl now - does anyone care? The celebrity game, rising stars challenge, shooting stars, skills challenge, 3 pt contest, dunk contest, the All Star game......sooo what.

Having said that - I'll be watching.;)

The All-star game is about individual accolades. Kevin Love has out performed DH this year respectively.

Nevertheless, you are supposed to reward success, NOT failure. His team is failing, which makes him and his "individual accolades" irrelevant. Plus DH has better career stats. Racking up stats/pts on a crappy team is like looting - it does not count.
