You are grossly over-estimating the amount of money Clutchfans generates. Dude started this site because he's a fanatic. This site costs him money, not the other way around. The advertising probably doesn't even cover his serve costs.

Most of the racial issues stem from LOF's calling McHale and others who disagree with them racist. Frankly I haven't seen much racism directed towards Lin fans. Some people have made connections that Lin fans are only rooting for him because they are Asian - and the truth is most LOF's are Asian by their own admission! So I am not sure what you are getting at. People on here seem to be behaving pretty well. It seems to me that you are taking maybe a handful of members and projecting their feelings onto a board with over 50,000 members.

Yes absolutely defensive measurements are not as tangible as offensive results are. We dont have stats for charges, tipped passes, deny penetration, or deny shot attempt.
What we got are +- per defensive measurements steals blocks and rebounds. Its a way to meaaure defensive capability

Wow, your reading comprehension is so off on my original entry. Even parts of what you wrote above helps support it's main premise.

The main point was that netrtg. is not an INDISPUTABLE measure of what is the best team line-up. If it were, then there wouldn't be such glaring flaws with it. When a "once in a lifetime player" (in your words) is 9th on the team in netrtg., it implies there is a flaw with it. When a "nba-all caliber guard" has a neg. netrtg. (while the team has one of the best records) in the starting line up and his bench replacement is almost 18 points better, then that shows there is a flaw in the assumption that netrtg. is an indisputable stat.

The only failure was your reading comprehension.

So - reread it and think before you write.

Despite my join date (and post count), I have been regularly following the rockets on here for almost 10 years now. I can pretty confidently say that at least a third of what i know about basketball, I learned from reading the GARM. Stuff like the CBA, Salary Cap, and different offensive and defensive sets were all foreign to me before I started using this site. The worst you'd get with the, "YOFs" back then was the occasional "Sura falls in faint," type post. Now, you can't get through 2 posts before you see people calling eachother by 20 different acronyms that have no real relevance to the discussion.

It is glaringly obvious who watches games and who just checks box scores. People love to do the "_____ put up 30 points on Bev!" or "_____ lit Lin up with 30 points!" Nevermind determining what % of those points came from FTs, whether someone else took a turn guarding the guy for a stretch, or what % of those points were scored on someone other than Bev or Lin in transition. I guess facts don't matter when trying to advance a particular agenda, but it is so damn tired.

There won't be any problem to kick LOF out of here once Lin was no longer with rocket. For now, they got the right to be around.

If some LOFs stuck around after Lin is no longer a Rocket, wouldn't that mean that they became Rocket fans?

As long as they are ROCKETS fans first and foremost when on this site, we welcome them with open arms. There is no room for tolerance for player only fans on a community dedicated to Rockets the TEAM.

I'm a long-time suffering Knick fan, a Lin fan, and enjoy watching the Rockets play. What does that make me?

Does it matter how other people think who you are? It is always good enough to be true to yourself. This is only a basketball discussion forum ffs, I just don't get why guys are so serious on everything.

If you don't check your Lin and Knicks priority at the door, the answer is: not welcomed here

It intended to be a joke and to provoke thought. I don't take anybody's opinion of me from the Internet seriously. Don't worry about that!

    lol

Why would I post about the Knicks here? Nobody would care to read about it. I don't even bother posting about Lin because the majority of the people already formulated their opinion on the subject. No post of mine is going to change anything.

Because we have tons of Lin fans that are stupid enough to? A quick look in any thread basically can tell you that. If you do check that crap at the door, again we will welcome you here with open arms.
