Clowney is a freak, no questioning that... Question is, will he be a freak every play like JJ? Once a couple downs... While Bridgewater and Jimmy G are dicing up defenses in the process
Bridgewater's ceiling is higher than what you give him credit for In this days NFL you can get by with having an average defense (that gets turnovers) but if you can't score points, we will be at this same fork in the road next ear
I really wish you'd actually watch Clowney tape....the full tape and not just highlights or short clips. You keep talking about Clowney like he takes a ton of plays off like Mario used to and that's just not the case. I see where you are coming from because, honestly, before I actually spent the time looking deeper into it, I thought the same.
I agree with this. It's Clowney or Bridgewater no trading down and passing on one of those guys. And for me it's Bridgewater simply because I value TD's more than sacks.
Bridgewater's ceiling is somewhere around 12th in the league and he probably won't reach that ceiling especially since he'll probably struggle with injuries due to his small frame. Of course it all depends on who he is drafted by. If he's drafted by a team with a really good O line who doesn't need all that much from him for the first couple of years then maybe he'll be really good eventually but I think the most likely scenario is that he will get thrown to the wolves by some team and he'll disappoint. If you're expecting him to be decent, you might get what you expect, if you are expecting him to be the next big thing, you are setting yourself up for failure.
I just watched the Michigan game and he looked good, no question. He had better motor in that game than he did all the games this past season I saw. But what stood out is he could be taken out with one guy at times. It wasn't until the second half when he wore him down did he dominate. He was impressive after that so not taking anything away from his performance. But the main reason I don't take him over Bridgewater is I just think Bridgewater gives us more wins. As I said earlier I value TD's more than sacks.
Never had much injury issues in college He played behind a porous o-line at Louisville... He could be top 10 qb in 2 years no matter where he ends up 1. He has pocket presence 2. A good arm (likely to get even better) 3. Accurate 4. Great ball placement 5. SMART Pretty much all the tools required to be an elite qb in this league. Heck I could be wrong and he could be average but I wouldn't bet on it.
i'm hoping you are being sarcastic, but one can never be sure in the cyber world. Mario had 13 sacks this year.
I would STILL rather have Josh McCown over ANY quarterback in this draft. And we can draft a QB in the first round of next year's draft which will be a better draft for QBs.
Clowney is no where close to a "high motor" player... That is the most important aspect of an nfl defensive lineman. While clowney can have a nice career, his talent level is way overblown because his physical attributes. Im seeing mario written all over this guy.
Next years draft???? Lol like who?? Mariota??? Possibly Winston I would rather not suck to be in that position again Plus both qbs are overrated as heck
I wish he was being sarcastic, he seems to think that the guy who got the largest contract for a defensive player in the history of the NFL (at the time) was and is a bad player. It's pretty crazy.
If TDs is what you value _ we should be talking about Sammy Watkins. Because a QB is nothing without someone to throw to. And there are a couple of potential Gronk/Jimmy Graham type tight ends in this draft as well...
I like the kid out of Iowa named Fiedorowicz in the middle rounds, I think Owen Daniels becomes a cap casualty so we'll need another TE
Mariota would be the top rated QB in this draft this year if he didn't go back to school. Hundley would be in the conversation as well if he didn't go back. I aslo believe Driskel will make a big jump and I like Hogan. That's 5 including Jamies.
Mariota is apart of one and run shoot, want no part of him, plays around NFL speed Hundley was garbage this year, needs old bay in the barrel loads Driskel is trash, will not start for Florida next year Hogan is garbage, tebowesque release and inconsistent accuracy Jameis is overrated, plays with a very talented FSU team, alotta one read and checkdown progressions (he needs 3 years) Fact of the matter, next years class is nothing to write home to your mother about
