The thread started as good discussions. But some of more recent posts messed it up. Pls. stop personal insults and stick to the actual discussions. Following is my post, posted in another thread. It is related to this one. So I decided to repost here as well.

We should all judge a player by the content of that player instead of some of his crazy fans. Lin is a good NBA player and still devoloping. I am sure he will get better given his attidude and workethics. As long as he is a member of Rockets, he should receive our unconditional support. Period!!!!

A great win last night. I like the energy on both offense and defense a lot. Lin actually played a solid game and good defense. Hopefully he can fit into his role as a main backup for both PB (PG) and JH (SG). Once he regains his confidence and becomes more familiar with his role on this team, watch out, the Rockets will be deadly.

I really like the rotation last night. With him as the primary backup of JH, it gives JH some much-needed rest. It will pay major dividents in the long run and coming playoffs. I also like the idea of playing JH, Lin, and PB together. It also relieves CP and gives him some rest. After watching last night's game, I am more optimic with having Lin comming off bench if this similar rotation sticks. For me, it is not about PB as a better "fit" with the starting unit (I can make an equaly strong argument that Lin also "fits" with the starting unit as well, as evidence shows that we have about the same winning percentage with him starting as PG) and it is all about making Rockets a better team in the long run. The more I think about, the more I like it. That rotation indeed utilizes more of Lin's mutiple skillsets as a combo guard. Hopefully, Lin can be familiar with this new role.

It is not clear from my point of view. Rockets were playing well as a unit with jeremy starting.
The loss to okc lin did not get even 30 minutee as a starter. Question is if aaron brooks is as valued as lin by mchale, why doesnt mchale play brooks and lin equally now?

I disagree. The rockets reach the secobd round without a pg .
The team has shown inconsistency and a lack of chemistry.

    I think lin should start

I don't understand people that float from team to team to root for. It makes no sense to me.

The premise should be why is beverley even starting in the nba? Not one team in the nba other than houston would start him.

Lebron james would be one example. People do root for athletes when they switch teams.

Well. It is a big world out there:grin:. There are all kinds of people. People are alike and unlike to a more or less degree. So why be surprised?

But to have meaningful discussions, we should all show civility and respect each other's oppinions. Personal insults actually weaken (instead of strengthening) your arugments no matter how valid they are.

Not really huge. I d say he is a role player now. Howard parsons and harden make the huge impact in the game

You have a rebuttal or just a roll eyes avatar?

Beverley would not be starting in the nba. Lin if given the chance would. that is a big if

You took the words right out of my mouth...err... Keyboard. Jumping from team to team based on a player is something I never understood. You won't find a bigger Jordan fan than me. I lived and breathed with those late 80s-90s Bulls teams, primarily because my city/state didn't have an NBA team. Hell that's where my love of basketball began. But I didn't start rooting for the Wizards when he came out of retirement. I rooted for MJ, sure, but the team success wasn't paramount. Then again I didn't live in Washington or profess to be a Wizards fan. I still rooted for the first team I started following, those Bulls.

Of course things got complicated when I moved to Houston right smack in the middle of Jordan's prime, but that's another story for another thread.

Interesting to see beverley get lots of support here.
I dont see any legitimate talent in that guy. Aaron brooks played almost as many minutes as lin the last two ganes lin started. So i guess brooks= lin 2014? Accordibg to mchale? But when bev started how many minutes did brooks get? Right, 5 minutes? Where is the consistency from mchale if there is such thing
