Has Omer Asik played his last game as a Rocket already?

The most frustrating thing is that he could be a big contributor for a strong playoff run. Not to mention the regular season. Just seeing him on the damn bench when he could be helping with Dwight taking rest time. Two top centers in the league on the same team, constant presence of a big.

I think a big part of his value being low is because no GM wants to deal with Morey. He seems to always be the winner in a lot of deals with teams around the league, because thats what he does. No GM wants to look a fool in talking about Asik.

The Asik trade will most likely be mutually beneficial (the rockets wouldn't trade him if it was upto them) , so the Morey part is being exaggerated.

I think the most telling thing in that video is that Omer answered the question by referencing when he was the starting center and how well they played then. Thats all he cares about - the injury may have been real to an extent but nothing he couldnt have played through.

thats a shame because the Rockets took a chance on Omer and gave him a nice contract and an opportunity. He made the most of his opportunity but now is asking for more from the organization that gave him that chance in the first place. The Bulls never gave him that chance and they had Noah a really good but not the same caliber center as Howard.

You are just talking out of your ass. If it's not your knee then you don't know how it feels. You have no way of knowing if he could have played or not.

Not being on the court only makes it harder for the Rockets to trade him. If he could play It makes sense that he would play. There have also been reports that his knee was noticeably swollen, so I think there is more evidence pointing to the injury being real than it being fake.

    Berman: "How you feeling, Omer?"

Asik: "Omer is good. Doctor says Omer will be perfect on February 19."

    Berman: "2014?"

Asik: "Ha ha. Little man is funny. For this Omer not crush."

Getting closer to a countdown clock? So we still have no timetable on a return? The trade deadline's less than a month away. At this rate, by the time he's playing again, it'll be for another team.

If I'm omer, what incentive do I have in coming back if I am going to get traded. The worst thing that could happen is he gets injured which stops a deal happening.

If I'm his manager I'm telling him still to hold out and not try and come back any time soon.

Of coarse as a rockets fan, MATE WHATS HAPPENING!!

But why will teams trade for him before they know if he can still play? Furthermore it gives the other teams more bargaining chips to even low ball their offers more, which in turn may make Morey less inclined to trade him. I hope Asik was not that stupid.

Well there is this thing called a contract that he signed. If NBA players could just shut it down whenever they're unhappy with playing time, there'd be a lot more DNPs recorded in this league.

If Asik isn't really injured as I suspect, then he's making himself look like a primadonna and a headcase. And considering what he's owed over the last year and a half of his deal, I don't see many teams eager to sign(and possibly re-sign) a guy like that.

Boston still wants him besides any team would sign a 7ft defensive rebounding freak and would make him the starter

Which knee is it? I don't see any swelling in either in the real pic.
