Unless Lin starting playing like Westbrook, there was no way that Beverley was losing his starting job. Lin was putting up near all-star numbers at the beginning of the season while Bev was pretty mediocre. If that wasn't enough to cause any questions, then nothing is going to. Remember that Beverley was initially made the starter even though he hadn't done much to earn it, and Lin hadn't done much to lose it. The system is what it is and the coaches decided a long time ago that they need a Beverley-type player as the starter.
to be fair, he played a lot of minutes on the floor with both beverley and harden. so he was spotting up a lot. that might look energy-less, but thats his role when he's on the court with two other guards.
I was trying to offer the poster I was responding to a possible reason. I could care less if Lin never starts for the Rockets personally as long as we win.
"Now that Jeremy Lin is done?" It was just a couple of weeks ago that he was putting up near-double doubles and alley ooping it to Dwight as if he were Tyson Chandler. Now suddenly, he's finished? What a bunch of drama queens we have here.
It is and it boggles the mind sometimes. That said, the system seems to be working so lets see how it plays out. For Lin, he doesn't look as quick as he was earlier in the season. He seems a step slower. If there is one thing about the guy its that he never seems to recover from any injury quickly.
Point taken - the hands on the hips thing with the head to the side while standing in the corner - maybe I'm misreading body language. I've been wrong once.

They don't tell the whole story either, unless you happen to be an idiot who only looks at or can only comprehend the box score.
I was thinking the same thing - maybe just not 100% - who knows, but he definitely doesn't look as quick as usual at the moment.
Woohoo! A win against the Kings with both Bev & Lin in the lineup whereas the first two games one of them was out. I really like seeing these two switch off for each other and also playing together. They both defended Thomas and did a great job. A very convincing win against a team that beat them twice before this game. Although both Gay & Cousins left due to injury, the Kings stuck around until the end of the third when they used hack-a-Dwight and got the score to within 13. It was a good call by coaching to sit Howard down, which put a stop to the tactic. Very nice game by Casspi; his rebounding was a huge bonus. Also, up until garbage time, Houston basically ran only 7 guys, with Casspi & Lin off the bench, and DMo starting for TJones. This was interesting to me because with no others playing off the bench, Lin was not really in a role of leading the bench; there was really no bench to lead. He was mainly a backup for Bev, and also for Harden. Since filling in for Bev, Lin’s game has changed quite a bit (for the good of the starters and the team). It was evident to me he controlled how he played while coming in for Bev, like during his starts when Bev was still injured. It looked slower and not as much attacking, but I think this was good and allowed the game to flow through the 3 main guys. His game only became more free-flowing when Covington and AB came in, which was when he actually led a larger bench group. These several minutes were also when his scoring went up as he looked to attack. This was also good. Some are going to see a negative in this situation and trash him for not doing more during the bulk of the game or just playing garbage time. But I actually think what he did is encouraging for the team, especially when/if the bench gets sorted out. Lin showed that he is willing and able to fill in for Bev and not play out of that role, but was also able to show up if a bench is there to lead. There are going to be games when the bench is used more, so it’s good to know he can lead them when needed. I think there’s one more game against the Kings. Looking forward to the next two games against Memphis.
