People are always surprised a few years after a draft. For all we know Bridgewater could be a washout and Derek Carr could be the next great QB in a few years. That's sort of what makes all of this fun. Even the best NFL draft analyst can look like an idiot after a draft.
We don't have a stable o-line. Particularly due to the fact that O'Brien is almost certainly going to change our blocking scheme. IF Brooks is able to make a switch to a man-blocking scheme like we predict, that would give us 3 capable lineman. Well short of a stable unit. Saying that Bridgewater will surprise us all down the line sounds confident, but in the end it's nothing more than a shot in the dark.
True, but I wouldn't bet on Carr, he can't handle the blitz worth his life...a quintessential quality to have to being a great qb, you gotta be able to handle the sh"t storm
I'm worried about the line as well. If we go away from the zone scheme and towards a power scheme, Brandon Brooks and Duane Brown might be okay but Chris Meyers probably won't and we'd have no one at LG or RT. Whoever is the QB next year might be running for his life getting hit within 2 seconds of the snap.
everybody called me crazy for saying Russell Wilson would be a great NFL QB.... i'm not a "herd" kind of guy. i think for myself, and i question authority. my evaluations speak for themselves.
hm, "game managers" generally do not have 100+ QB RATING in back to back seasons... Much less their first two seasons in the NFL!!!! also.. let's not bring up that his #1 WR is golden tate.. lmaoooo!! oh ya, his oline is one of the worst in the NFL...
He makes plays, still getting better too Despite being 5'10 (which hurts him to a certain degree when dealing with pressure up the middle)
SMH, I don't have the words....I'll get back to this when I can take the time to properly destroy your ridiculous suggestion that Russell Wilson is a "great QB". I'll give you a taste though, take a look at how many passing attempts he's had over the last few years.
We've all made good and bad calls. People called me crazy for saying Cutler would be the best QB drafted in the 2006 first round. When I said Alshon Jeffery was the best receiver in 2012, I heard all the same things people say about Clowney in that his numbers took a huge dip, he lacked work ethic, etc. Even when I said the Browns fleeced the Colts at the time of the Richardson trade, most people thought I was crazy. But I also thought we were crazy for taking Watt over Robert Quinn. While Quinn is a stud too, he's no Watt and I was wrong.
Cool on most of those calls, but weren't most people mocking the Colts for the Richardson trade off the bat? I know the radio guys (except for I think John Lopez lol) were all laughing about it week after week.
