If rox can get rondo for lin/asik/1st round pick.... You have to do it. Roll the dice for the big win. We'd have elite pg defense 48 mins a game!!

The Celtics ARE NOT trading Rondo if what they are getting back is not in essence a full blown rebuild.

-the only reason why Asik was considered by Ainge was that - A. His contract comes off a year earlier than the contract of Lee and he considers the Bass salary a negative. and B. He was planning on bringing Rondo back at that point where he still wants to see what the team could be like with Rondo as the centerpiece with young talent around him.

If Ainge ISN'T keeping Rondo, why in the world would he want Lin and Asik... two players that will just keep him team in the middle of the pack? The fantasy trade of moving Lin & Asik for Rondo isn't happening.

The only way you are getting Rondo from Ainge is if you give him something he really wants instead of a rebuild on the fly.... .which is a way to increase his assets, take back bad salary, and increase his odds in the draft of bringing in high level talent in the draft or using multiple picks & expiring salary for a superstar trade.

Obviously nobody on this site knows what Mchale would do. We don't know what Morey's going to do. Have you been right on everything thst you predicted. no sir.

Right now Beverley is McHale's guy , him and Lowery didn't get along. So 4 one we are not getting Lowery back. 2nd if we did he most definitely wouldn't be starting.

If the Rockets want Rondo, here is the type of trade they will have to put together-

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=n38yjg6

With MULTIPLE 1st round picks going back to Boston from Houston

    First you need to -

-A. find a team that really needs a rim protector & guard help for a playoff push this year and next year (Phoenix looks like a good candidate)

    then you need to

    B. have that team give something to Ainge he really wants(like a huge expiring) since its a given that if he's trading Rondo, he doesn't want salary & veteran players & great draft picks

    and lastly -

    C. Then you need to be able to take back salary from the Celtics to help the rebuilding process move forward even more (taking Bass would help as well).

These are the TYPES of deals Morey would have consider if he even wants to think about bringing up Rondo in a potential deal.... However, the list of 3rd teams he would need to employ to get this kind of deal done are very, very slim.

You would probably need to take back Wallace's deal as well.

"Houston would receive Rondo in exchange for Jeremy Lin, Omer Asik and a first round pick."

If Lin can be traded for a first round pick and do the same to Asik. With the quote above: Is Rondo worth 3 first round pick? I believe not. I rather see Houston hold on to these 3 first rounders and wait for someone else. Or maybe draft all.

Which is possible. I'd assume Morey and Ainge would haggle back and forth on which contract he takes back vs what they give up in draft picks in return. So maybe you could lessen the load of draft picks to substitute Bass or Bogans for Wallace which Morey might rather do to keep picks...

also maybe they think Wallace has more on the court value as well, but that contract has to factor in their decision making on where they want to end up with the Parsons contract extension as well.

However the whole thing hinges on finding a 3rd team that wants Asik & Lin or at the very least one of them which doesn't look too hopeful right now.

    *duh*...

I've been saying that all season long. If Boston is willing to part with him then HOU should def be going after him. Lin is great with the 2nd team but Bev is still ways away from being an a great pg much less a starting pg for a Championship team

Lin doesn't want it... I'm serious. That's why Harden doesn't defer, not the other way around.

Why does everyone want rondo? I bet morey has his eyes on the grand prize.... Lebron James. We know he's the biggest front runner ever. All he cares about is championships and legacy.

He can take a paycut. Most of his money comes from endorsements anyway. Can you imagine harden, Howard and Lebron? Most dominant big 3 ever. So enough of this rondo nonsense. It's a terrible fit on the court and he will not mesh well with Howard and the teams personality.

So hope we get him just to see some of these people on here freak out. He's better than any two pgs we have combined. That is all.

Wallace's contract is a deal killer. Of course Ainge will try to trade him, but his contract is untradeable. Zero chance we take him.

I would take Wallace if it weren't for his contract. Huge upgrade over Garcia.

I would take Wallace if they didn't have to include any picks.

I'm not sure Rondo really fits into this team but its worth a try. If we can trade Lin, Asik, and a protected 1st rounder then its worth it.
