    1. Talking about taking Cutler in that draft sounds a lot like hindsight, pretty much no one was even talking about him at the time. It would be similar to saying years from now that you'd have gone with Carr first overall this year.

    2. Mario is still a productive player and was top 5 in sacks THIS season, Cutler....well he's had a few good seasons in his career but not all that many and it looks like that career is nearing the end.

That is a concern, I would like to see him put on a couple pounds before the combine (ideally get up to 215-220)

He only looks to be 200-205 right now

    I should clarify

Seeing Jay and Mario produce today, I would take Jay over Mario

Mario has had the better career but the impact of a qb over every other position on the field is humongous

Mario is the better player, but Jay is not far behind in the most impactful position. DE's don't throw the passes, qbs do

    1) Yes, Mario's career in Houston was not worthy of 1.1
    2) I never wanted VY or ML, I wanted Reggie Bush. If used properly (like he is today), he could have been a force in Kubiak's system.
    3) I was NEVER behind drafting David Carr. Did not like him in college, was not surprised when he failed. I wanted Dwight Freeney, how did that turn out?
    4) I do not want to draft a QB 1.1 in this years draft just for the sake of drafting a QB. I believe that TB is a bonifide franchise QB that can right this ship. It won't be instantly, but in time he will be a top 5 NFL QB.

If Bridgewater master's majority offense by opening day (knowing checks and calls at the line, protection stuff included), I think he will be fine.

That is how your protect yourself as a qb at the next level

    1) No, but neither were any of the others considered to be the top pick.

    2) Bush was considered a bust before Miami in 2011, and for the very reason Charlie Casserly passed. He was too skinny to run between the tackles. It took him 5 years to fill out and get strong enough to be effective on the ground.

lol, making things up again i see

reggie weighed 201 at the combine, and currently weighs 203.

so, you're telling me it took reggie 5 years to gain 2 lb's?

    you crack me up.

Maybe it just took him 5 years to stop being terrible. He was a 3rd or 4th string RB on the Saints, clearly a complete bust for them.

it's clearly the system... NO does not utilize a traditional running attack. Most of their rb production comes from screens.

by no means was reggie bush a "bust"... he simply was drafted into a non ideal situation for any rb that wants to run the ball between the tackles.

LOL, yeah he wasn't a bust at all. Everyone wants the RB they pick to rush for just over 2000 yards in 5 years.....one serviceable year in Miami and one pretty good year in Detroit doesn't change the fact that Reggie was a bust.

i know you have no clue... but, new orleans has had 1 1,000 yard rusher since drew brees/sean payton took over. duece mcallister in 2006, brees/payton's 1st yr on the job.

so there ya go... you know tee tee, and it really shows.

I heard a stat once that Reggie Bush was the first RB since the merger to have over 200 carries before having a 20 yard run. I believe late in his 2nd season he finally broke 20. He was always good at catching the ball. I think if he was picked in the 3rd or 4th round no one would be calling him a bust. The best rookie NO had that year was Colston and i think he was a 7th round pick.

I don't think he is that lite. I read somewhere he started the season 218. In the only interview I hear talk about his weight he said he added 50 pounds from high school to the end of his freeshman year. That would put him at 220. Also while he may have a slender frame he is not coming in without muscle like Brady. he probably doesn't have an ounce of body fat. As for those who worry about his hand size, just know he throws a beautiful spiral with accuracy and he only lost one fumble his entire college career. Yes that's right in 3 years he only lost 1 fumble. with all the hits he took in the pocket over the years only 1 fumble lost is amazing. And if he can do that what difference does his hand size make.

I would be surprised if he measures out in the combine anything less than 215 and 6'3" with close to 10 inch hands.

You can say what you want bro, but with the 2nd overall pick, for New Orleans, Reggie Bush was a bust.

Obviously if you focus on the weakest part of his game at that time, you're going to make him look like a bust. But this guy was a monster in the passing game for the Saints, Dolphins, and Lions throughout his tenure with each team.

Check out his receiving yards per game and yards from scrimmage for his first 3 years and his last 3. The Saints used his skills perfectly to compliment their juggernaut offense at the time.

I agree he was a receiving monster, but I also don't think he was a 2nd overall pick receiving monster. He's finally showing what he can do, but he's also showing why he wasn't quite worthy of the 1st overall pick. Seemingly, because of his size, he can't stay healthy....

According to some here, a "bust" would be the Texans picking any player NOT named Johnny Manziel.

Quite the opposite. A small minority want Manziel while everyone else mentions everything not football related to take a **** on him.

The same way that Manzealots only look at his positives (aka YouTube highlights) while doing nothing but bashing any other prospect. It goes both ways.
