I wish people would just stop psycho analyzing LOFs and just ignore them, this thread would not have reached 20 pages this fast...

I mean what do you really benefit for psycho analyzing them? are they some rare animal in national geographic? :p

You do know that common sense would suggest that the way to stagger their minutes IS to bring Lin off the bench, correct?

Not that I expect common sense to be prevalent among those who only watches one player play basketball. But that would be common sense for the rest of us.

Funny how the narrative has evolved from LOF vs LOH to "Lin nut huggers" vs "normal posters".

And why is he best utilized off the bench? Because his game and Harden's are similar, at least that is what I have been reading from you guys. Or because he just doesn't fit with the starters, am I right?

I don't believe Harden and Lin can't mesh and Calvin Murphy has stated as much as well. There have been too many games where they have played well together for me to buy that narrative.

I don't believe Howard and Lin don't play well together. Hakeem said as much and said they would be deadly.

I don't believe Lin isn't starter caliber. He did okay last year and was our 4th best player (this despite recovery from injury).

Parsons and Lin? They have a bromance going. :p

So how does he not mesh with the starters?

You could argue Bev is a better fit because of his energy, but isn't that what you typically want from a reserve?

Lastly, if you disagree, point it out and state it. I don't think there is a need for labels.

Above is my opinion. Feel free to disagree. I think that's why its called a forum. Its for discussions.

Hello all - new guy here-as you can see from my name, I'm a professional musician. I hope to be one of the lone voices of reason amongst the Lin fans - I followed him from the Knicks here, but I have become a Rockets fan and certainly feel that I have the team's best interests in mind. Hopefully I can add to the site and not detract as some have (and mostly gotten banned). So, I guess I should add something to this thread: here goes - I love to see the Rox play like they did last night, and I really wished Lin could have followed Bev's lead as the other players did (hustle, crisp passing, decisiveness, aggression etc.). That was maybe the best we've seen from Bev this season and I truly hope he can sustain it. I worry a bit that the high energy Bev that plays a max 25min or so won't translate if McHale starts playing him 30+ on the regular - but seeing as we have depth at the position it shouldn't be a problem. That being said, this was one of a very small handful of games this year where we have seen that Bev intensity from start to finish - or even for a significant amount of time. Do you guys think he can sustain it from here on in? Also, what do you think would be a good target for minutes for him?

One other thought - I've seen Lin talked about as a 6th man - forgive my ignorance but, is he really being used in that way?

What I have always liked about Clutchfans was the ability of the clutch crew to be objective and non biased against all Rocket players.

In this case, Beverly is clearly the better starter but I'm more shocked Clutch had to write an article about this. The clutchfans twitter feeds this season have obviously favored Beverly and pointed out Lin's discrepancies.

With all due respect, this article was unnecessary.

Extreme Lin Fans tend to do that to people. I'm more disappointed no Lin fans have countered Clutch with stats of their own. They seemed to love doing so when it was promoting Lin.

Lin can be brilliant but the problem is he is still prone to disappearing and committing crucial mistakes (like driving into a crowd of 4 defenders and losing the ball), sometimes a string of them.

Beverley is steadier and being a veteran of Euro wars, has a tough enough constitution to step up when Harden and Howard are flustered (like they were beginning to be during the 3rd qtr of the POR game).

He just needs to stem the tide when Harden and Howard are in trouble. I've seen Lin many times just follow the lead of H and H and disappear at the same time.

    You're obviously but hurt.

How is he biased and why can he not have an opinion?

This is a rockets site that he owns, what amazes me is that you don't have anything to say about the cretins that follow clutch around 24/7 on his site, call him a racist and many other things.

We're all fans here, crew or otherwise. It's impossible to be absolutely objective, but as far fans go Clutch is pretty much as balanced as it gets. I don't want him to just be a moderator without an opinion. We all benefit when smart, knowledgable fans are free to express their views.

Can't ignore them, there's too many of them, and they post way too much in every thread

If I tried to put ignore list on LOF's, it'd reach like 40 people

My list is at 21, it really does help IMO. The only downside is when other people quote them. PM me for the list if you want to make this site much more readable..

Because that will make Lin fans leave now?

Ridiculous. But okay, hey, you're taking a stand! As a real Rockets fan! On the internet! Whatever that means!

Oh no, not this again. Just got home and Clutchfans exploded. We've been through this. Bev is a better fit with the starters. Rockets don't need a pg that will take the ball off Harden and Howard. They're the most effective when they have the ball. Jeremy is clearly a better nba player than Bev. He's just not fit with Harden and Howard.

One of the posters said the best. "Clutch stated his oppinion and I respect that. But I happen to disagree". Sometimes, we ought to agree to disagree. Labeling other fans is not helpful.

I'm sure taking pot shots at LOFs should stop LOF/LOH wars, right? But I bet you actually love the drama.

It's not just opinions, it's their stupid agenda filled posts in every posts. I rarely respond anymore, but they are actually really annoying because they are in every thread lin related or not. Especially game threads, like wtf, why game threads.
