My cat knocked my PS4 off my shelf and broke it. I had the system for 2 weeks. Am I screwed?

So if Jacoby returns this broken PS4 today, when should we see the price raise? Will I still have time to get a PS4 at $500 if I wait till I get paid this Friday? Also, how much of an increase in price should I expect to see? I mean I can afford the $500 but I am not paying over $520 + taxes. Should I possibly wait to see the increase with the release of the PS5?

Yikes! Now that I think about it, I feel bad for all the poor kids who will not be able to purchase PS4s after the price increase. I mean these kids life may be ruined, they might have to read a book or go play outside with their free time now.

Ofcourse this is all sarcasm, if they are willing to give you back your money or replace the PS4, do it. If they are willing to do it because of the words you use when you return it and not actually doing any inspection of the product, well that's their problem and maybe they should insert some different measures for return of PS4s.

Saying a little white lie to get back $500 does not make you a bad person.

Makes it kinda fun for me that Amazon now charges sales tax in WI. I get to listen to everyone complain about how shopping on Amazon is more expensive now because they have to pay taxes now. But for me it's great, it just means I don't have to calculate much use tax at the end of the year.

I have no problems with people who do that kind of stuff and admit that they got away with it. I have a problem with the people who do it, and then try to justify it by saying "the evil corporation didn't need more money." Just be honest with yourself, and everyone else and say that your word, wasn't worth $400.

Dude, I don't give two craps if you lied to Microsoft to get a new system. What's hysterical to me is your righteous moral outrage that the big, bad corporation doesn't cover "cat-jumping" under the manufacturer's warranty.

 

If I've learned anything from the internet, it is that cats like to jump on electronics if all shapes and sizes. Our economy would collapse if everyone got refunds for stuff their cat breaks.

You are NOT better than someone who is fortunate enough to have his PS4 break within the 30 day return window and return it. However, K-Low you should lock your console up if it's happened already. There's no excuse for 4 times.

Yes, while the RROD and people buying 2 or 3 PS2s because of faulty hardware is fair game. Props to Sony and MS for screwing over their consumers.

I can tell that's true by the way they dig through customer's boxes on the way out the door to make sure they didn't steal something. Very anti-corporate of them.

However, you can refuse the request - you have the right to do so. They can only detain you if they truly suspect you are shoplifting.

 

You can deny their request if you want. There is nothing wrong with them checking...they return everything you take back, so Im okay with them making sure theyre not losing money to some jack ass trying to get a free Sonicare toothbrush.

 

If Costco sells the item you're looking to buy, then absolutely 100 times out of 100 you buy it from there, regardless of price and the fact you have to pay tax.

Their consoles are still under the lifetime no questions asked return policy, including accidental damage.

So why would you buy your ps4 from anywhere else?

 

I don't know what the Costco door guys in Houston are like, but I always thought they were pretty useless at every Costco I've ever been to. They barely even LOOK through the cart, let alone dig through lol.
