Playing Brooks for like 30 seconds last night is almost an insult after what he's done in the past few weeks. It totally brought down his per game average.
No it isn't. The better player came back healthy. He's back to doing what we signed him to be. Vet minimum backup insurance policy for injuries and really cold shooting nights. I guarantee he gives no $#its about his per game averages going down.
How is it an insult? When the guy is not hot from downtown, he needs to sit his ass. It is as simple as that considering the guy is a waste of space on the court otherwise. He is a vit min insurance policy on our team. Who cares about his per game average... I sure don't! If he does, who cares about what AB cares about? He is a 3rd string backup on this team at best and benchwarmer when his shot is cold.
We have cash to send if Lin or asik was traded but we sent half of our 2013-2014 cash balance with Royce white to the 76ers to get him off our roster. Bima bimathug can correct me if I'm wrong
He is a better player than Brewer. If matchups allow, I would like to see him with Lin as SG on the court rather than Brewer.
We were outstanding from 3 last game, so didn't really miss AB tbh.... but we ARE going to have stretches where we will be terrible from 3 and AB is the sparkplug we need.
Honestly he should get back up SG mins that Garcia/Brewer gets... No reason that Garcia should be playing over Brooks, and I don't want to hear anything about defense. At least Brooks doesn't foul per minute.
Shameless plug alert... I wrote a feature for the Houston Press today on the job Brooks has done filling in for both Beverley and Lin over the past two months . Folks here know most of the background stuff on Brooks re-signing and the injuries, but if you go to page two, I broke down some of the numbers and was fairly surprised by how little of an impact the Bev/Lin injuries seemed to have. http://blogs.houstonpress.com/hairb...kets_stay_afloat_through_wave_of_injuries.php
I know that 4th year option was a killer, but it hurts to think about how much better a Dragic/Beverly backcourt would be over Lin/Bev. Dragic is far more consistent and a much better shooter and would be a bona-fide third scoring option.
