My cat knocked my PS4 off my shelf and broke it. I had the system for 2 weeks. Am I screwed?

There's a reason they didn't allow for vertical storage on the Xbox One. The Xbox 360 had all kinds of issues from people knocking over their console with a game spinning in it. It just wasn't worth the hastle to make a verticle console.

So you basically stole multiple consoles because your cat is a b*stard? How about - if you own a cat, don't put the console somewhere that they can freaking break it?

Is it possible to buy a new one, swap out the external cracked plastic parts so that they're on the new machine, and you return the malfunctioning one with the fresh plastic on it (as if it were the new one, wherever you buy the 2nd one)?

 

It sucks to literally have to throw away $500 hard earned dollars for an accident. I'm not saying its right. I'm just saying it sucks.

If the store takes an exchange for damage, what does it matter what he says. He could say he took it out of the box like that. I just hope he wipes all his data off the machine

LOL, he probably bought it at Wal-Mart. I think Wal-Mart has screwed over plenty of its own employees and small businesses.

You do know fraud cost US money right? Walmart or bestbuy aren't just going to eat the cost! they will pass the buck to the rest of their costumers.

Those companies don't lose money when you return it. Your fellow customers do. Retail companies have and always will pass their losses on to other customers.

The same goes with credit and check card fraud, right? Oh, no big deal right? You get your money back after a few days. Wrong, Mastercard, Visa, AMEX and Discover have to pass those losses on to other card holders through higher interest rates.

Exactly, I am continually astonished by the ignorance of some people. These companies don't go "well damn, someone tricked us in to buying back something that was broken!" They simply raise the cost of the item, and make other buyers pay for that loss.

Just shows you why our country has gone to hell in a handbasket the last generation. No one takes responsibility for their actions.

They never knocked them off... They just jumped on the top of them and the damn console would make a terrible noise and then the Red Ring of death would come on... I could care less if you think it's stealing. Like you would pay for another one if you didn't have to.

 

Or nothing... Microsoft was so scared of people abandoning their products they were basically giving away 360's.
