As long as Lin keeps making silly turnovers, keeps playing inconsistent ball, and keeps playing tentatively, he is not going to win any favors from McHale. You are right that Lin is a "mystery weapon" because even his own coach does not know what he will get out of him each game. While Beverley might not be as talented as Lin on offense, he is consistently aggressive, is always putting pressure on the ball, and makes the safe plays.
I may have been mistaken but I thought he said we beat Portland without him....maybe last year. Hell maybe this year, I could be wrong but I could have sworn he played in our other win against POR.
1) Because Lin sucks. Plays Zero defense, turns the ball over like it's his job, passes up open shots, jumps in the air with no place to go and is the most inconsistent player I have ever seen. 2) Beverley has contagious energy. The team plays harder with Bev and the court. They hustle more and play better defense. Bev is a good defender. 3) Lin is better suited to come off the bench and possibly give us that spark we need on the offensive end. I think he plays better off the bench anyway. We need Bevs defense more than Lin's offense in the starting unit.
Did you even watch the game last night? Bev played great, I seriously missed his energy and his defense. That said, I am not an LOF but I am a big fan of Lin. I always want him to succeed. I think he is best suited coming off the bench, and I like having the occasional lineups with both Lin and Bev in at the same time.
That excuse that Lin will be the primary ball handler while Harden is resting excuse is complete bs. Harden played 41 minutes yesterday.
Not sure exactly what that tells us, but it's still interesting. My guess would be a combination of: 1) Tired legs from Harden and Parsons 2) Bev and TJones' limited offensive skills being exploited as the game goes on. One interesting stat for someone to look at would be our standard deviation for scoring by quarters relative to other teams. My guess is it would be high.
I'm going to assume he mean start because this thread is about Bev starting. If he meant without Bev, Period then OP can GTFO and head back to JL.net
What is this constant harping about "confidence"? More players come off the bench in the NBA than start. Is Lin so fragile that he must start in order to play well? Plenty of players come off the bench and have lots of confidence, so I don't get it.
#1 It was Beverly's job to lose because he has been the starter all year; #2 Lin did not especially play well during Beverly's injury and did nothing to "steal" the job from Beverly; #3 The Rockets need Lin's scoring and play making off the bench more than in the starting line up; #4 Your timing is bad, the Rockets just handily beat a first place team and Beverly played very well.
No but Lin wasent playing bad?. He plays better then a few starting Pgs in the league. He had two decent back to back games just like two games ago. N all of a sudden he losses his job soon as bev comes back. I'm sure lin just shrugs it off but as Somone who played a little college ball that would slightly bother me althoûgh I would make it a quest to make sure I played good but still it's sort of dumb to me. N btw I'm not a bev hater I like him a lot.
