Has Omer Asik played his last game as a Rocket already?

That would be grounds for an investigation on the team since the insurance is paying when it shouldn't have to. Dangerous bidness.

That lines up very nicely to show that he is healthy far enough ahead of the trade deadline.

I'm not saying he is faking, but if he were, this would be the exact timeline you would expect.

He's either injured(which I don't buy for a second) or he doesn't want to play for the Rockets and the organization has decided they're better off with Omer sitting at home and not being a distraction than to have him moping on the bench or half-assing it out on the court. I'm going with scenario #2.

 

He was sitting on the bench last night (not suited up, of course)

 

When are we going to trade this ****ing guy.

 

But how many games has he sat on the bench during his "injury"? You always see Greg Smith there. You always saw Pat Beverley there. Same with Parsons. Asik for most of the season has been AWOL when he wasn't on the active roster.

So, knowing Morey, Asik will be traded at about 1:33 PM (CT) on Thursday, February 20.

 

Funny how this injury came about at the time when he was benched for TJ and initially was a slight strain.

 

Yeah, let's not pretend he's injured.

Since he isn't part of the team moving forward, and since he was dogging it on the court when he did play, and since he looked like his mother had died during the "demotion", etc etc....

Asik was such a beast for us. I wish he didn't have such an attitude problem and just play out his contract. When people thought we were fringe contenders this year it was assuming we had a healthy Asik or would be able to flip him for equal value. Trading him for scraps just to get rid of a cancer puts us pretty close to 0% to win a championship this year and leaves us with few assets to improve for next year.

 

I know we're all hurt about this... But what IF he was injured? I would rather have that be the case. I'm going to continue believing in it until he downright refuses to play after coming back from said injury.

 

I think he will play a couple of games before the deadline so teams know that he can still play.

But anyway I don't want him on this team,even though I liked what he did last season,he flat out quit on this team and he could ruin the chemistry.

 

Silly theory of the day, perhaps Morey has always had an offer on the table with a team that wants to lose as many games as possible before acquiring Assik. They might tell him to contact them at the deadline if he hasn't found a better deal. That way Assik doesn't hurt their lotto chances as much.
