    First and foremost, I want Rondo on this team.

    Another move I would like to see and would probably do it at this point is a straight up swap of Asik for Kevin Garnett.

    A veteran 4/5 that's unselfish and one of the best team defenders in the league would greatly help this squad. Not to mention, the leadership and intangibles he brings to the table. He's getting better as the season progresses and wants to compete for a championship. I have a hard time believing his no-trade clause would be an issue.

    I never said he wasn't valuable or that he is worth less than Asik. But that does not change the fact the he is NOT a top 20 commodity in this league.

    The only clown in this scenario is KG's current coach.

    But yeah, we all know KG is a tool. This team could use some attitude and swagger, though. The type of player that will teach D12 not to chit-chat during stoppages of play and be all buddy-buddy with the opponent.

    Mediocre Nets or the potential contender Rockets? Easy decision :)

    Had not seen a response; this is from Jan 15th:

    Suns GM: 'It's more likely than not' that Eric Bledsoe will return this season

    As noted in the "Trade Terrence while Jones is high?" thread above, speculation is that "Gary" is Gary Sacks, the Clippers GM, "Vespas" are wasps/hornets (aka Bobcats) and "Krispy Kremes and Big Brother", I think, are DMo and Asik. Three way trade between the Bobcats, Rockets, and Clippers?

    It is a little confusing because the Pelicans were the New Orleans Hornets, but the Charlotte Bobcats are reclaiming the Hornets name and have a new logo, as I understand it.

    Bizmak Biyambo for DMo

    We get our backup center with one more year guaranteed on his deal and a team option for an additional year. He's an excellent rebounder and shot-blocker. He's also a good defender. He's wasting away on the Bobcats behind Al Jefferson.

    Not sure why a single person older than about 13 doesn't understand why this is not going to happen.

    Assuming "Codman" is legit and New Orleans is interested in trading for Omer Asik, here's the sort of three-way that makes sense:

    Omer Asik to New Orleans;

    Ryan Anderson and Donatas Motiejunas to Philly;

    Spencer Hawes and filler (Lavoy Allen's expiring contract) to Houston.

    New Orleans replaces a very good big who is likely out for the year with a very good big who isn't.

    Philly replaces a very good big and unrestricted free agent-to-be, and who they do not intend to re-sign, with an injured but very good big who fits nicely next to Nerlins Noel next season, with "Donuts" as sweetener.

    Houston replaces a very good big who is a) super-expensive next season, b) a lousy fit next to Dwight Howard, and c) not playing with a very good big who a) costs $0 next season, b) a great fit next to Dwight Howard (and Terrence Jones, for that matter), and c) is actually playing. Also, Allen's expiring contract can be packaged with a minor asset (e.g., a second round pick) for an undervalued veteran rotting on some rebuilding team's roster (e.g., Brandon Rush?).

    Regarding the Bismack Biyombo suggestion(s): the advanced stats I look at love this guy, and Charlotte seems to undervalue him, since he's barely playing for them. So yes, he makes sense as a target for Houston. He is your classic trade deadline Morey target, in fact: a former high lottery pick perceived to be a bust.

    Another possibility is that Jeremy Lin heads to Charlotte, and that Biyombo is part of the return package. Advanced stats value Kemba Walker more than Lin, and Walker is a hell of a lot cheaper next season than Lin, not to mention much easier to move. This works:

    Omer Asik to New Orleans;

    Ryan Anderson and Donatas Motiejunas to Philadelphia;

    Jeremy Lin, Greg Smith, and Lavoy Allen's expiring contract to Charlotte;

    Spencer Hawes, Kemba Walker, Bismack Biyombo, and Ramon Sessions' expiring contract to Houston.

    And Sessions' contract could be packaged with a second round pick for a useful veteran bench player. Brandon Rush makes sense. So does Marvin Williams, or eve Patrick Patterson. Or they could simply waive Sessions and add a useful veteran who winds up getting bought out in late February, or they could waive Sessions and bring back Marcus Camby.

    Adding on to the bobcat trade idea's

    This has nothing to do with the insider stuff.

    Lin and Asik for Gordon and Biyombo

    Gordon a veteran SG who has a 13 million dollar expiring contract and is a good shooter.
    Biyombo's a 21 y/o center who's limited offensively, plays D, blocks shots and rebounds decently.

    Gordons 13 mill expiring is a huge plus, we have Smith and brooks expiring next season and that would have us at about 10 mill in free cap space. Them we have a bunch of players who are on cheap million dollar contracts that we can trade in Motiejunas, Garcia, Casspi, Covington, Brewer and Covington.

    So we could potentially have around 15 mill in free cap with these moves.

    That is a terrible trade for the Rockets - not getting much value there.

    Rondo is a pretty good PG (when healthy). But he's a head case and clubhouse cancer.
    NO THANKS....

    Why Cleveland makes trade:

    1. Lose 2 years from Jack contract.
    2. Rebuild with young foundation.

    Why HOU makes trade:

    1. Jack veteran leadership and better 6th man than Lin.
    2. Varajao better fit with team and adds intangibles including attitude to team that needs it.

    The other guy I like is Chris Copeland who is getting almost NO minutes on that Pacer team but did pretty good with Knicks last year. Only 2nd year in the NBA but he did play in Europe a few seasons. My guess is not available because when they move Granger, Copeland will get those those minutes.

    I hope D-Mo wants to stay in Houston now. He is playing better now, and has good upside.
    Les and DM should keep him. Moving Asik is a different matter. I hope he will get healthy enough to play a few games, so he can be traded.

    Trade for Jaaron Breverlin.

    He's a lockdown defender, rains threes, and is a great passer.
