Are you saying the Rockets have given no cause for any "b****ing"...? Were you then content with their game against the Thunder...?

Its actually quite amazing that if not for a few off balance last minute shots that went in (Ellis), players having games of their lives (Anderson), incredible 4th quarter collapses (I don't want to remember) and a ****ty schedule we would have a much better record.

lol yes.... If only we weren't such an unlucky team, correct...?

Perhaps, we as fans aren't rubbing our rabbit's feet key-chained calculators earnestly enough....

There has been two "McHale teams." The first one had a 3-7 bad finish. The second one was 6-4 in the last 10 games, which is about the same win% as their number for the rest of the season. There is no discernible pattern based on 2 years of data.

Honestly I fail to see the relevance. It's completely different roster, coaching etc. just because some of the great rockets teams in the past played better in the 2nd half of the season have no relevance on whether the current team will be better in the 2nd half

Relevance is, its not quite as bad as what most of us made it out to be after the OKC game.

    We are doing okay.

Not quite football like... But "peaking" at the right time is SO SO important.

That the rockets have been so good record wise while looking so bad at times is impressive. They are a bit and cold team... And at least half of that is because their bench is currently so weak and the starters are tired. Love or hate Lin, the guy is perfectly suited for this team to play Crawford/Terry scoring 6th man and was doing awesome at it before his injury. Morey needs to add a quality swing 2/3 for the bench t replace Garcia. Get Asik and PBev healthy. Add that wing.

That alone makes the team so so much better.

Maybe don't give up some of those games. And if they do 5 games better in the second half, which is a stretch, but is 31-10... That's a combined record of 57-25... Which is fantastic and only less so because of Portlands unexpected success and San Antonio's ability to never get worse. But if one of OKC or Blazers have a bad stretch, that gets you either a 3 or 4 seed.

By those numbers we should go 25-16 ending the season with a record of 51-31. Since we have a better team, we should go 28-13 the rest of the way, ending the season 54-28.

Third best start isn't saying much.

Record-wise, the Rockets' history is mediocre. Most wins ever was 58 and the overall franchise record is barely above .500.

That's not the case this year though. Our schedule after the All-Star Break is very tough. If the Rockets are gonna have any shot at 55 wins, they have to win nearly every game between now and mid-February.

If you showed me our wins and losses before the season started I'd be upset. We lose games we shouldn't for reasons we shouldn't. Then, if you said - oh yeah, by the way, Asik & Beverley miss several games and Lin, Harden & Parsons combined miss several - I'd say wow, okay, that sounds about right.

My only concern is we lose games because we seem to fall apart, not because of injuries.

At a macro level the record is okay but I watch these games. We have problems that need to be fixed. We need to find an identity again. Fast.

    The goal is championship.

Completely meaningless. Btw the Rockets SOS only gets harder from here on out.

Wouldn't injuries be the reason why we'd fall apart? If we had better and fresher players down the stretch, wouldn't that help with this issue? It's odd how you seem to place no correlation between bad execution and having lesser players in the game.

The real way to read this, is how many games behind the BEST record are they?

If it is quite a few, being 3rd loses steam, IMO.
