Knowing how the Rockets suffer from 2nd half collapses all the time, its not looking good.

Something to keep in mind while we wait to take it out on the Bucks hopefully. Just how many years was the core group together before the 94-95 championship year ? my mind fails me at the moment. Vernon was our rookie, but how long was K Smith with us at that point ?

Maxwell? He came into the league in 88, but wasn't a rocket until 90. Kenny came in that summer.

And it seems to me that we started slow this year. Not sure yet, but we may look back on the OKC collapse as the wake up call to this whole team playing to their potential and making a legit run.

That's because with Yao and Mac they always had one of the top 3 records in the league during the 2nd half of the season. The past couple of teams over the years collapse during the 2nd half of the season.

Generally I remember our schedule being easier in the second half. Less back to backs and more home games. In fact, February usually brings a win streak due to an extremely easy stretch. I expect us to get healthy, make a trade, and finish with 55-57 wins. This is not a homer statement. Just generally how it goes when we have a decent team.

Asik is better than Howard. Trade Harden for a draft pick or a deeper bench. Fire McHale. This team is frustrating. Our bench sucks. We need to get better 3 point shooters. Blah, blah, blah. So many threads like this, all while our team (the 4th youngest team in the league) is doing quite well for their first year together.

Last season's team: 21-20 first half, 24-17 second half. You didn't think about it because it isn't true.

2010-11 team: 18-23 first half, 25-16 second half.

Dwight is a pretty decent post up player, but a great pick and roll center. Couple that with Harden as the ball handler.
Just could not understand why Rox do not fully utilize it. I still firmly believe that would be the difference between a contender and Rox winning it. Along with better 3p shooting and emphasis on securing the rebound.

^ This! (But I suspect it has to do with Harden perhaps not giving the ball back, and no coach to guarantee he does)

A whopping 3 game difference... amazing...

And here's one valid example... Guess that's sufficient sampling to account for "historic" patterns....

You realise he was refuting a statement that suggested the last couple of years the team waz worse over 2nd half. 1 example otherwise would've been sufficient

Hopefully for whatever reason this season won't be different. With chemistry growing, and playing more east teams, and our roster improving healthwise, no reason we shouldn't be better in the 2nd half and push for homecourt in the playoffs.
