Where have you found his complete highlight games and some of his college games? I'll AIT I haven't seen ALL his games but I have seen the important ones. Thanks in advance OMR.
That's a pretty good start. You can use google search and find some videos not on youtube... "Bridgewater vs"... Also Northwestern is his high school you can find some raw video with that.
I can't see the Texans drafting anything other than quarterback, just from the fact that you can't really afford to keep Watt and Clowney long term. There's no way. That should exclude him from our plans completely. With that said, I'm find with Teddy or Johnny. I was Teddy all the way. I'm growing more comfortable with Johnny. I think his offense has shaped his college play a ton, and that with the right coaching and offense, he could potentially thrive. I think O'Brien is one of Johnny's best bets, to be honest. Teddy is Teddy, and I think he will be good. He might start out in a Geno Smith-type way, although I think he will be better right away. But as I've said before, he could easily hit Aaron Rodgers levels.
I've been on the Bridgewater hype all season. I agree with all your opinions on his talent. In your opinion, do you think he can be a true elite quarterback ala Brees, Manning, Brady, Rodgers? I maybe biased, but I definitely see it in him. He seems like one of the smartest quarterbacks I have watched all college season. And his offensives coordinators thoughts on him as a player was just icing on the cake. If we do draft him, i wonder if we hire him. (They have a father son type relationship)
It's just speculation on my part because no one really knows. But as much as I can feel confident I do about him. I watched film of Rodgers, Cam and Luck in college and IMO Bridgewater is an all around better QB than all of them. Not better college QB necessarily but a better pro prospect. (Let the flaming begin) just my opinion. And it's not just because of talent. It's more because of his mental toughness, fearlessness and intelligence. The fact all that comes with talent is amazing to me. And heis consistent. It's no fluke he is a pass first QB. He was a pass first QB in High school and he hasn't changed only he is even more. He always tries to make the play with his arm first. The thing about it everybody has a level and then they hit it and that's it. Only a handful of QB's level is NFL elite. Some people's level reaches a plateau because they are not tall enough or quick enough or smart enough or their release is too slow or they can't handle the pressure. Once they hit that thing they can't do as good at the next level than that's what teams focus on. With Case it was going through progressions quick enough to hit those mid range passes. That's why I worry about manziel. Yeah he was an amzing college QB, more amazing than Bridgewater but the most impressive thing about his game , the thing that made all of those highlights was all that running and catlike quickness. He is so quick I have no doubt some of that speed will still work in the NFL but the bottom line is at the next level there a little faster and a little taller and they hit a little harder. How is that going to effect him on the next level. How is he going to stay healthy and not end up another RGIII casualty. Manziel had the best OLine in the country, he should able to stay in the pocket longer than anyone. Yet he was easily flushed out. When the rush got close Manziel was gone without putting any faith in his line. That's when he looked amzing and everyone went WOW! But you have to ask yourself is his 5'11" size (and he is 5'11") effecting him. Are all those amazing plays the result of him being to short to see over the push and having to take off just to often. It's certainly not because he is afraid. The kid looks fearless and he has a great line to boot. Maybe he is just too short in college and if that's the case then he will definitely be too short in the pros. Maybe it's just he reads defenses poorly and finds it easier to read on the run. Either way those or both unchecked boxes on manziel's list. Bridgewater doesn't have those issues. he stays in the pocket like no other college QB I've seen in recent history even better than Rodgers and Luck ( Iknow blasphemy, admitted I haven't watched a lot of them). And here's the other thing, he can run. Not manziel but pretty damn good. He will be able to run at the next level if needed. In High school he was the number one duel threat in the country. His freshman year he ran alot more than he does now and looked good. He doesn't run now out of choice and it's a smart choice. One of the most impressive parts of Bridgewater's career was his 2 game span last year. First he played Connecticut and broke his wrist. He looked even before he broke his wrist but after he broke his wrist his left arm was in major pain. He couldn't even use it for support. He played with one arm and almost lead them back to victory. With his ankle severely injured at the end of that CT game and his wrist broken, he wasn't supposed to suit up for Rutgers but he did only as an emergency option. It quickly became an emergency. Watch the Rutgers game and you'll see why I think he good be elite. With no mobility and one leg and one arm he picked apart Rutgers in a must win game. You got to watch that game just to get an idea how he is not like Manziel. The announcer said Teddy is better than most colege QB missing a leg and a arm. He can beat you without athleticism even though he has it. he beats with his brain and his arm. That's why I think he can be elite. He has the talent but when he slows down a decade from now he will still beat you with his skill.
I'm convinced. After this thread, highlights, and the Miami game, it has to be Bridgewater (and I'm a huge Manziel fan).
I would like to see Johnny on the Texans, but I would understand the Texans not drafting him due to size and long term durability concerns and possibly off field tmz stuff.... Fair or unfair.
Good post OMR. I may not always agree with your opinions on the Rockets, but I sure do this time. His game just feels... right. He seems like a Texans guy: (Good values, intelligent, talented, loves football) TB for me is the one player in this draft that will re-energize this franchise.
I think Manziel would "energize" the franchise more, but saying that. Look at the 4 best qb's in the league. Manning,Rodgers,Brees, and Brady All notorious pocket passers. Bridgewater fits that mold. What scares me about Manziel is his quick trigger to leave the pocket. Not the biggest fan of that.
Manziel has that "IT" about him. The same thing that Cam Newton had, and even more so, Brett Farve IMO. After reading OMR's novels on this thread. I think he has convinced me that Bridgewater is the "guy" that BO'B will take. I think Manziel will be really really good, but after thinking about it, Bridgewater has the pocket skills to be similar to an Aaron Rodgers.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmH7jvQN4zk As long as things checkout for Bridgewater, we are getting him
Yea... I remember Brian Leftwitch had a game like that. Messed up his ankle and couldn't walk and his offensive lineman carried him down the field in between plays and they were in hurry up mode trying to win the game.
Problem Leftwich couldn't hit the side of barn if it was 10 feet away Toughness and all the intangibles when your wind up is like Tebow's and your toss the ball everywhere but to your receiver
Stop trolling. If I were a mod, you would have been canned already. Luckily for you, I don't think mods look at this thread. You have added no insight to anything Bridgewater related. You just say, Johnny is better, and give no reason why. Your stance has become aggravating.
Funny think is... Green Bay snuck in the playoffs as a wild card and Rodgers got hot and his receivers got hot (just like Flacco and Boldin) and won it all. But every since then the dude has been going home early... Same with Brees and he hasn't been deep in the playoffs without Reggie, and until every NFL team has a dome _ Brees is no longer an elite QB because he can't win outside. As of now those two dudes are no different than Eli and Flacco... Just regular season stat collecting fantasy quarterbacks. Tom Bradys and Payton Mannings are far and few between and there are no QBs in the NFL that should be compared to them (even though the only ring Manning has, has Bob Sanders name on it). Brees and Rodgers shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Big Ben...
