fisher was more than just a catch and shoot PG tho. But I do agree that this debate is flawed. He is a better fit for this team but he is not a better player than Lin. Its also unfair to compare a 3rd year player to a guy who has been in the league for like 20 years. And lets not forget that fisher bounce on Dallas when it wasnt his ideal situation to sign with OKC, so this heart of a lion stuff is a bit overrated.
I'm all for Brooks starting. Lin is freakin' horrible. Only shows up in games that we should win either way.
I seriously got to ask, have you SEEN AB play? What part of AB makes you think he is better than Lin in any way at all? The only time where AB is even remotely useful is if he happens to be hitting his shots.
LOL, you are definitely funny. Brooks is what he is, a 3rd string point guard, who can is extremely streaky, but can't guard anyone in this league. With completely un-objective thoughts like this, your life has to be hard.
This. is. like. reading. from. a. book. Yup. Brooks had the hot hands in the first 2 quarters. He then went ice cold but yet McHale left him in. Everyone knew that Brooks can't defend and is a poor finisher and yet the coach doesn't?
Offensively he only offers 3s and some quick drives to the basket with no intention of kicking out. If his 3s are not dropping, what can you get from a player like this when he is proven to be the worst defending PG?
Jeremy Lin is a much better overall player to Brooks at this point. Brooks is valuable as a sparkplug but not a starter; too many weaknesses that can't be disguised playing over 30 minutes a game.
want to know the answer? When Brook's 3 are not falling, he is a liability. Having him and Harden together defensively is just to risky.
Brooks is the only Rocket playing more than 10 minutes per game with a negative NetRtg. During his 20ppg season the Rockets were 42-40 and his NetRtg was (-0.7). He was the #1 or #2 option that season and played the most minutes on the team. He was the "Haren" of that team.
Some of you are seriously over estimating Brooks effectiveness, dare I say in the exact same way some other board members here do... Brooks is ONLY good when he has his shot going. If he isn't he doesnt bring defense anywhere near Beverley, he doesnt bring the size, scoring or playmaking that Lin does, and he is a HUGE net loss defensively. I've seen enough of Brooks getting absolutely destroyed by Dwill night in night out. He's a great scoring burst when he's hitting his shots, but he was ineffective for the whole second half and it took Idleman I mean McHale til the 4th minute when the team was sinking fast to even think about taking him out. Lin is clearly on a shorter leash, but whats more perplexing is there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to why McHale has substituted the way he has
Why would you want to ship the franchise SG out of Houston. Ohhh, you must've meant the 2nd worst offender of TOs in Houston, Jeremy Lin. I instinctively thought you were talking about Harden's 3.8 TOs per game. I didn't realize you were slow, and meant the dude that turns it over 2.8 times a game.
I don't you understand what the coaches have been doing to this team. Lowry left for a reason. Be consistent and allow Lin to be the PG and it will work but the coaches don't see that clearly.
