i am soooooooooo with the the "this team is hard to watch" crowd. harden is soooooooooo on my ****list. he is steve francis light.
Hard to root for...not happening. But one can root without watching, and after last night the Rockets priority ratings went down the tubes with me.
You were Rooting with that 73 pt first half explosion, right? Was it hard then? All teams go through lulls, it happens, basketball. Tbh, both halfs were aberrations and make it frustrating, but it is so not hard to root for the home team, when u see the potential... Still not a finished product, and the regular season doesn't matter
This team is frustrating to watch. Omri Casspi needs to go, I'm sure some of our D-League guys can put double the production than that guy can. He has been terrible. Look how James Johnson is performing in Memphis...and to think he would have been really solid off the bench, more so than Casspi. If you look at at true championship contender like the Pacers. Two of their bench players could be starters on our team in Scola and Granger. I know Morey isn't done building this team but a move needs be made around the trade deadline. Our bench isn't cutting it. But I must say Brooks has been a nice surprise and from the bench unit, he is the only one that should be kept if trades were to be made.
I agree that the team's a bit hard to root for. It's got nothing to do with the OKC loss for me; I've been feeling like that all season. We got the gold-plated center and he was going to be awesome in P&R with Harden and Lin, and him and Asik were going to shut down the paint and grab every rebound and turn our defense elite -- or at least respectable -- or at least we'd swap Asik out for a real PF, and we were going to be contenders. Except none of that really happened the way it should have. We're better but not the greatness I was hoping for. Can't agree with this though. I don't like this penchant that people have to become disillusioned with this or that player. I root for all these guys.
can't agree you don't like that people become disillusioned when their expectations come crashing down to earth? i am a rocket fan, i want them to win every game. i watch the games, but it's painful. sorry to hurt your feelings.
It doesn't hurt my feelings, nor do I exactly mean you shouldn't do it. I think it's a bit unhealthy, and collectively unhealthy in a community.
two different things, hard to root for and frustrating. growing pains are frustrating but we're in an era of instant gratification with the google machines and interwebs.
as much as yesterday's loss was hard to watch its just 1 game it doesnt change the fact that this is still a good basketball team. Do we have flaws, yes what team doesnt. but to overreact to this loss is typical when its to a top notch team like the thunder lets move on from this and beat the crap out of the bucks so we can put this loss behind us #rednation
It's hard to root for because this team doesn't have a coach. They have a cheerleader that keeps saying, "keep running" or "great job". smh Why is it that Houston coaches are too predictable with their playmaking?
You gotta root for them though man. right now its just consistency. But its becoming a slight alarming problem and its been one all year. When teams D up in the second half the Rockets dont know how to get easy baskets. Ite gonna be fixed. This team is still very much a work in progress
When we're hot (like the first half against Thunder) we're playing a really exciting brand of basketball. The problem is we get cold really fast. That might be because we aren't sure of our own identity yet. Someone from the broadcasting crew said it best. We don't know if we're a half-court team or are we something entirely else.
I root for them no matter what, but I understand where you are coming from. We don't have Scola, Landry, Hayes, Battier, Rafer, Artest. Those guys always played hard, even with their shortcomings which made it easier to get attached to them. We don't have any fiery or all out hustle guys on this team. No matter how much talent you have, you need those type of guys on your team. Miami probably would have not won that first one without Battier and Haslem. They sure would have not won the 2nd without Battier, Chalmers and Andersen combined with Allen 3 ptr in game 6.
McHale is the problem. His system is very bad and he flat out can't coach. A better coach would utilize the potential of this talent. The Rockets have a lot of good players.
I agree with that big time. Those kinda players dont grow on trees. They all had mines of their own. RIght now the team seems to take on personality of either Harden or Howard.
