Jesus, if this isn't a turning point I don't know what is. When CNN starts headlining the Rockets for their "dubious point differential record" (not in the Sports section, in the main section), that's it. Fire McHale, suspend Asik for the rest of the year, **** it. Drastic action needs to happen now. Sorry for rant.
Yeah, I don't want to overreact based on 1 game out of 82, but... holy crap. That was bad. I just kept thinking that when I went to bed last night. "Holy crap, that was bad. And not normal bad, but bad bad."
According to AP, Thunders coach Scott Brooks showed his team each of the 12 3-pointers Houston made in it's 73-point first half at halftime. Then tide changed and new history made. This is the difference between a great coach and an unqualified one, who did nothing in the third and fourth quarter but just watching his players not even able to make a good shot. Wake up Morey and Les.
Same here I can't stand hearing it from Spurs fans down here in the RGV. This is turning out to be a very long and bad day for me.

This team lacks a clear leader, somebody who will yell at the troops when they are behaving like zombies. They have one tough guy in Bev, but he is not talented enough to take that mantle. I have refrained from criticizing McCall but is also incumbent upon him to throw a fit now and then to wake these guys up. A guy like Rondo would most certainly help a lot. A whole lot.
That was the first paragraph on a report titled "Thunders Win after Historic Rockets Collapse" on USA Today.
Rondo would be great here, people here on clutchfans say he can't shoot, but he's a better scorer than Jeremy Lin and Patrick Beverley.
Rondo can shoot when he has too. 44 points vs Miami in the playoffs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndyfsS0bFK8
An embarrassing loss for sure, but we're still 25-15. That's not to say there's not work still be done but keep perspective -- for all of our flaws, we're still in the thick of the playoff hunt.
ad-hoc small ball. When shots are falling we can outscore just about anybody. When shots are not falling, everything suffers, we can lose a 20+ lead in 6-7 minute to any team. In the end, this team hinges on shots falling. This is not recipe for success.
Feast or famine when you shoot 3's at our rate, but what I think should have happened was us pressing the interior when their D was smacking us in the mouth, as the calls would have come. Instead we acted inept and seemed to think that hitting 50%+ on our threes was going to continue regardless. They smacked us, and we showed we couldn't get tought back with them. Howard looked outmatched, and ineffective, and we didn't move without the ball well.
Outside DH and Bev, we don't have anybody that can play consistent good D. Brewer used to be a defensive specialist, but obviously he doesn't count. The problem I saw, and it has become a pattern, if Harden's hero ball is not working, we are in trouble in late game situation. The situation is usually worsened by missed FTs. Missing FTs has to be the focal point for the coaching staff. This is the easiest part to fix.
