People remember things the way they want them to have been and not always they way they were. The problems started way before Patrick went down. You do realize the Rockets were 5-5 the last 10 games that he started?

In summary, the Rockets ran out of gas... and had bad coaching. Onto to the awful Bucks. Houston can't possibly lose to the worst team in basketball, or can they?

Saturday should be a happier time for this forum.

Nah. The engine fell out of the bottom then exploded into a nationally televised indictment of us being pretenders.

We can stop this nonsense about "playing up/down to our competition". Rockets have MANY more bad losses than good wins.

A win on Saturday is certainly no cause for celebration. And frankly, I wouldn't put a check in the W column just yet.

That's what it felt like, but after they beat the tanking Bucks on Saturday, you'll forget the national admonishment they got on Thursday. Luckily, there's 82 games in the NBA season. This was definitely an epic collapse, so it'll be one of the more memorable games this season. Of course, we all prefer the memorable epic beat downs the Rockets gave last season, like what the Rockets did to Utah in Utah last year, and the whopping that the Warriors got in Houston. The most memorable game for me this year, is when the refs took Melo's potential 4 point winning play away from him. Sometimes the refs taketh, and sometimes they giveth.

    Until Morey either
    1. Fires McHale and replaces him with a competent coach (i.e., George Karl, JVG, or SVG)
    2. Acquires guys that can actually play off of the bench
    3. Acquires Rajon Rondo

This team is going no where. I am just sick and tired of watching these guys jack up threes and not run any actual sets or play real defense. It is obvious to me that you need to do both of those things in order to actually win a championship. I really cannot wait to see what Rondo does on Friday vs the Lakers. We definitely could use him at this point. We need to overhaul our bench even if that means trading Beverley and Lin. TBH I would even think about trading Parsons. Only if we get something really significant in return though. After this season is over I think it is time we part ways with McFail. He just isn't working anymore. We need a coach who actually has a system in place. Bring back JVG already Morey. This is just getting really tiring.

Yes, I do realize this. I actually don't blame Jeremy for tonight, and I'm a pretty objective fan in terms of assessing our roster. No, I'm not Jeremy's biggest fan, but I appreciate his effort and always hope that he improves.

    BUT....

I was hoping you would read between the lines a bit. Trying to share some info with my fellow Rockets fans, you know, just stuff that's passed on to me in confidence. Take it or leave it.

Shout out to CyberX for understanding this type of ish.

Is Asik's injury a real one supported by the medical staff? If not, can Houston suspend pay to him for failure to live up to his contract?

This epic meltdown was mainly on the coach!
Lin had a subpar game. But when he left the court in the 3rd quarter, rockets still had a 10-12 points' lead, cos both teams played badly with equally miserable shooting % up to this stage . The problem was when Lin sat, and OKC happened to go on a tear, with Brooks clearly rendered ineffective in both scoring and playmaking, McFail failed to react soonest- as always the case.
A decent coach will probably send his starting point guard back around the 8 minutes' mark after seeing enough of things going downhill. But McFail waited till about 5 minutes left, and after a 20 points swing! Lin might or might not be of help, but could never be worst than Brooks. what a total ineptitude!

Never seek employment with the Rockets organization.

If there is a positive from this game, DMo just outshone the bench again and contributed 15 points. This young guy should justify playing more time to see what he can develop into. I think they should cut Garcia's time. Let Casspi play back up 3 in place of Garcia and let DMo play back up for the 4 & 5 positions. He can play stretch 4 and play post up.

I could have seen leaving Brooks in there like Mchale did if he was still hitting shots like he was in the first half. He wasn't, and he wasn't creating any offense, and the Rockets weren't pushing the ball. I think he should have brought Lin back earlier and pushed the ball hard.

The coaching has been horrible this year. Do you think Dmo just magically turned into a better player and learned how to play? Hell no, he should have been in the rotation at the pf spot all year long so he can continue to develop.

What players to play, and when to play them is just part of it, I really don't think Mchale has a grasp of how to be a good coach. I know it's the players fault that they scored 73 points in the first half and only 19 in the second half, but I think it is more the coaching staffs fault.

Tmac scored 13 points in 35 seconds on the Spurs, and tonight the Rockets whole team could only score 19 points in 24 minutes of play. It has to be coaching, why do people keep defending Mchale?

Thinking a win against the Bucks will erase what happened tonight is ridiculous, IMO. 'Tis all.

Did I ever say that? This loss is in the record books. What is going to change is your mentality, as well as the other knee jerkers' mentalities. Right now, the loss is fresh, and the defeat was nasty, so you're emotional and charged, and putting more weight on game number 41 of 82. On Saturday, if after a win, you are still bringing up Houston's failure in this game, then I was wrong about your mentality specifically. Generally speaking though, most people will have moved on. It's a long season, currently half over, and you're gonna get stuck on game no. 41. If you do, you have a lot more issues in your life, than a basketball loss.

This exactly. I thought we were up by 10 when Lin went out and down by 8 when he returned. Yes, AB hit a few 3's in the first half but it's not like he was taking over or anything. And Lin was not doing much but at least he played a lot better D on Jackson than Brooks did and when he was in, the offense had more ball movement. McHale is hardheaded and deserves this loss. He should be giving me a refund for the $ I spent on my tickets bc it was a pathetic showing.
