if asik is gone by feb, you can be sure the rockets get a 1st rd pick out of the deal at minimum along with a player that morey wants...morey will get both at minimum.

790- got into slow starts a lot on this road trip but you end up 3-1 so that’s what you really want. But does it annoy you at all that this team just can’t get out of the gates well ? you just can’t keep switching gears like that on teams that’s not going to work.

Morey – no its not going to work obviously we wish we could play better, 2 of our best defenders are out ASIK & BEV. Then we had lin In & out, parsons in & out, james in & out. So with all the end and outs that we’ve had I feel that we have been getting enough wins to put ourselves in a good position when everyone comes back healthy.

Morey – I defense has been creeping up we had a good showing yesterday hopefully we can get in the top 10

790- T. jones has been playing great career high yesterday, I know PF was a question mark going into the season but where would you guys be without him stepping up ? You guys have really benefited from his play and last night may have been his best game

Morey – yeah he has really saved us, he’s the guy that gives us optimism because of how he has been playing so when we get asik back bev back and oh I forgot to mention smith earlier because he was going to be the 3rd center but thankfully dmo stepped up & gave us some good minutes yesterday.

790 – yeah jones is that guy that does not have to have the ball in hands to be productive you always need a guy like that on your team.

790 – I can’t wait until pat BEV comes back but how do you handle a guy like him when he comes back do you just throw him back into the starting lineup or do you play him 15 minutes? Have you guys talked about what you are going to do?

Morey – well thats up to mchale, lin has been playing really well, we feel that’s he’s best when he’s in attack mode. One of the challenges with our starting lineup is you have James and Dwight so its hard for him to be On full attack mode with them, that’s when we think he’s at his best so it’s up to McHale. But we do really like lin in that mode he can give you instant offense and attack mode immediately .

790- howard is the only guy that has played all games this year, that’s great knowing that he health problems in LA

Morey – yeah his post has improved his passing out of the post, & he’s rebounding well so he’s been everything we hoped for coming here to play for the rockets.

^^^^^ recorded it on my phone while in my car, when they started talking about THE H-TOWN Astros legend craig biggio! I figured it was done & had to get in for work, so if I missed anything after that hopefully someone can post that information.

Is Johnny Manziel a player for the #1 pick? Morey: I do not know lots of the football, but.... not sure... Then in NBA, you can get a player from the D league, other countries etc.

Assuming McHale agrees with Morey here, this is just further confirmation that Lin will be coming off the bench when Beverley is back, so that Lin can immediately start the game in attack mode.

If that's the case, I would like to see Lin offset more of Harden's minutes. Too many times, I see both Harden and Lin together. It would be better to rest Harden more while Lin have freedom with second unit. I think better pairing would be have Parsons with Lin.

Both Lin and Harden are horrible on defense, Harden with the AAU Reach Around (move your feet as if you're trying to get to the bucket), JLin on ice skates as scrubs blow by him (he does go at them though). But if I see him jump in the air again and try to pass without knowing where he is going, I will get his RGV jersey ready (just joking).

Playing them both puts us in a whole quickly because teams outscore us in the 1st Qtr as they try to figure out who's going to do what on offense/defense

Take a look at the opposing PG stats for the last 12 games and you will be pleasantly surprised.

I think Lin would actually prefer that. He can focus more on offense, and he'd get to match up with the opposing team's backup guards instead of starters.

I think 1st Q mess is due to Dwight. I think McHale instructs team to feed Dwight down low at the beginning of games. If it works, great (see Celtics game), if not, we are always behind on 1st Q. We play best by running. That's how we should be playing, unless Dwight's post game is vastly improved.

I haven't watched many Rockets games this year, so for you who have, was Lin really leading the offense of the second unit when he was off the bench? From the score box and game log, it didn't appear he's doing that.

This is why Mchale put Beverly into starting lineup yet people cried and complained asking him to be fired

I do not think many are calling him to be fired for putting Bev in the starting lineup.

Yes, but whether or not it is by design or because we literally have no one on the bench outside of Lin who can is an entirely different question.

BINGO somebody gets it ! People keep saying the team is starting off bad... NO! the Howard post up is a good weapon to have but when we play half court and just try to force him its a 50% chance hes making the shot or he gets fouled then hits one free throw. Then lets say if the other team hits 2 3s by moving the ball we can’t help but to start over watching players on defense & blame someone for not staying on their man.

this wasn’t a problem last year because we would push from the jump, run p&R and look for fast break points. I feel that we start off the game looking to trade baskets on howards post up which is a bad way to start the game.

Exactly, it was never about Beverly is a better player, or Beverly outplayed Lin. They only need a pg who can distribute the balls and shoot open 3pt.
