All of that doesn't make him a duel threat QB. And yes I have seen Bridgewater play. And the two games that are stuck in my head is the games against Florida and UH and neither one of those games say "draft me with the #1 overall pick" IMO. Plus his arm strength is in question. And that's probably why it's being reported that some teams consider Bridgewater a 2nd round pick and not a 1st round pick.
His arm strength is fine, he has velocity on his short to intermediate throws. Bridgewater issue it that he has too much touch. His arm is stronger than Johnny's (not by much though) He has a good-great arm Check this out, has all of Bridgewater's film. http://draftbreakdown.com/the-right-comparison-for-bridgewater/ That UH defense is 20th ranked and Bortles had a pick and a fumble against them while posting similar yards with a worse completion percentage
I agree. Stats would have been a lot better in a spread but he is better prepared for the pros in the Louisville system
I don't want a dual threat, I want a guy who can throw and make plays from the pocket and not RG3 himself
Exactly, what impresses me more so is that he runs the offense, a la Luck and Manning (at Tennessee) If he was 6'4 220lb, no questions would be asked
Elite gifts: cannon for an arm 4.4 speed those types of gifts Manziel does not have a cannon arm nor does he run a 4.4
Bridgewater's arm is fine and is NFL caliber, but if you really watch the highlights Manziel has more zip on the mid to long throws. I'm fine with either except Bortles.. unless we trade down and pick Bortle.
I think Manziel has better technique on his deeper balls Bridgewater tends not use his lower body in his throws (very correctable, should be done by his pro day)

But as far as QBs are concerned, if you're bringing up speed and arm strength...I'd say Manziel is tops in both categories for this draft (within the top 3 guys). Of course, I think the edge goes to TB from a mental perspective...but that's why I think TB is the safer choice while Manziel has the higher potential. If Manziel gets the mental part down, his physical abilities will take him to the top.
I don't see how anyone can single out the Florida game as to why Teddy is not worthy of a high pick. By all accounts, from everyone I've heard, and by my account from watching that game, Teddy was absolutely amazing in it. I think even more so than his bowl game this year. The drive near the beginning of the game where he takes the huge (illegal) hit from John Bostick particularly sticks out in my mind.
Always remember, the entertainment business is all about eyeballs and clicks. Putting out more controversial information (whether you actually believe it or not) or presenting information in a more 'hyped' manner will earn you more attention than possibly saying what you believe or saying it in a dry factual way. The bank thermometer says 104, Obama is a socialist Hitler, the stock market is headed on a one way trip to 20,000 .... nobody cares or remembers that you said some goofy **** as long as you keep entertaining them. In America it's the entertainment value that earns popularity, not competence or truth. TEBOW!
Good stuff. I especially like how he has Gabbert taken several spots above Cam, and gushes over how NFL ready he is. Seeing how off early mocks are really puts things into perspective. By April we may be looking at someone who is completely off the radar now.
I don't know the mathematical terms for it but even the best mocks are dependent on some pretty basic variables that make them unpredictable. If Oakland or Arizona makes some illogical pick early in the draft, it effects every pick after that. You can't allow for the vagaries of individual human perception, like, Al Davis always opting for speed ovcr football skills. If a team makes an unexpected pick, everything following will be wrong. I think Mr.McNair's penchant for cocks, er, Gamecocks, should not be discounted when predicting the #1 pick.
Bridgewater, Bortles, Jimmy G, Matthews, Mettenberger, Boyd, and arguably Murrah have stronger arms than Manziel Manizel is clearly the fastest/quickest qb though
