Runs a 4.55 http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...08/17/teddy-bridgewater-louisville/index.html "Bridgewater's upside is undeniable. He boasts elite speed and athleticism, running the 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds"
http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draf...701/2013-nfl-draft-mel-kiper-first-mock-draft Maybe somebody with insider can show more but . . . 1. Luke Joeckel (went #2) 2. Damontre Moore (went #81; 19th pick in 3rd round) 3. Star Lotulelei (went #14)
Not trying to sound like a smart @$$ but NFL QBs don't throw to strangers so that's why NFL teams don't worry about the top guys not throwing at the combine.
Who knows...its just a theory of mine considering it is harder throwing to strangers (timing issues, ball placement issues) than throwing to guys you have been throwing to for months, perhaps a couple years
Mel Kiper did pretty good in 2012. Of course Andrew Luck going #1 was easy, but he still had the right guys going in the Top 5, even if they were to the wrong teams. But his first 2011 mock. #1. Nick Fairley (Went #13) #2 Patrick Peterson (Went #5) #3. Marcell Dareus (CORRECT) #4. Da'Quan Bowers (went #51) #5. Blaine Gabbert (went #10, 3rd QB taken)
Watched him play many times and believe it or not he ran the ball a few times. Go figure...................
I meant have you seen him run on the field with pads and helmet on and a ball in his hand with dudes chasing him...? That's alot different from running in a straight line with shorts on. A team isn't going to draft Teddy expecting a dual threat QB when he wasn't one in college. If he turns into one that would be gravy... And that's a 2012 article by the way...
Quickness and speed been very little as a nfl qb, the topic came up I provided the facts Brady Manning Brees Rodgers Ryan Rothlisberger (he has size) and several others are neither the quickest nor the fastest horses in the race...
If you have actually watched Bridgewater play you would notice that he run away from defenders and he routinely evades blitzers and lineman in the pocket... He only runs when he has to... At worst he runs in the 4.6s, especially if he ran a 4.55 then. Heck he could be faster by now
What??? I was pointing out a fact. 99% of the time he uses his athleticism it is to avoid rushers??? What are you on about?
Match made in heaven, would hit the short and intermediate routes and would kill them going long. I prefer the pro style offense he ran at Louisville though, and considering what he did within offense as well
I use to think the same thing. I asked someone who went to the combine and he said that was the response he got. He did say it could help, but it doesn't hurt at all that they don't.
