Love is still under contract for all of next year, and the Bulls have been a place linked to him in the past. Further, do you really think he would turn down a chance to play with Harden and Howard? I doubt it.

As for Asik, yeah he is hurt, his feelings are hurt. I believe part of the reason the Rockets have struggled to move Asik is that there are so few teams that need a center that actually want to make the playoffs. The entire Eastern Conference outside of Indiana and Miami is a wasteland. Only the Cavaliers and Knicks seem to have any desire to make the playoffs and be sacrifical lambs.

Anything is possible, but he has never shot well anywhere he has ever been. If that is the case, and he does shoot better, then that is some great scouting by the Warriors.

Damn. We're screwed. The only reason we have been owning them is because they had a terrible bench with the loss of Landry and jack.

How do you include the Spurs in that list? They haven't had a lotto pick decades.

Yeah, I'm really afraid of the Warriors. As most other teams in the WC probably should be.

I was responding to the statement that rebuilding through drafting has been proven a strategy of failure. I would argue rebuilding through drafting to success is the norm, and building through trading to success is the exception. Trades happen all the time, we kinda lucked out.

Their big three were all drafted by them.

LMAO Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Leonard, Splitter all drafted guys

The Spurs are the epitome of building a championship team through the draft.

Damn. This team can't sit pat. It'll be 04-05 again with a low seed if we don't get some adequate players.

They still have a terrible bench. Adding to bad players does not change that.

So.... in their press release the Heat mention Joel Anthony and the fact that the trade gives them "great flexibility", but no mention of Toney Douglas.

Guessing they might waive Douglas to sign Bynum next.

A roster spot would have to open up somehow, but I wouldn't mind seeing Douglas back with the Rockets, if he does get waived.

That's a pretty forgiving sample size. That's 2 stars and 3 complimentary players over 17 drafts. In that span they have never truly gone through a rebuilding phase, or been in the lotto. Without injuries David Robinson and Sean Elliot the Spurs were even a playoff team when they drafted Duncan. I agree that they've added to their team and done a great job of scouting international players, but that doesn't really include them in the "rebuilding" argument.

Agree with this- building through the draft has usually been the way that teams build contenders.

You mentioned Miami and the Clippers as teams that didn't build through the draft because they got Lebron/Bosh and CP3 through free agency. But even those teams, you could argue, were build through the draft. The reason they got those players and have been able to keep them in the first place was because of the star players on their roster that they had already drafted in Blake Griffin and Dwayne Wade.

What has made the way the Rockets rebuilt so impressive is because they did it without ever having one of their own top 5 draft pick. It took them years to get their superstar, but during those years they were never terrible and were always competitive for one of the last spots for the playoffs.

I don't think the "something" that they got back helps them much, if at all. It doesn't make them better defensively. It doesn't help them shoot more efficiently- if anything, having Brooks or Crawford taking away shots from their better playmakers might actually be subtraction by addition.

The only thing I really feel like this does for them is give them a little bit more insurance for the inevitable injuries that team will have.

I must be in the minority with the way that this board is reacting to this trade, but I don't think Jordan Crawford is a very good player to have for a contending team.

The ball will be in either Curry or Iggy's hand.

Think about it, your line is like saying, the Heat should not add "x" scrub/bench player because he will take shots away from LeBron.

It looks like Boston is in tank mode. Maybe we can get Rondo from them after he starts playing again.

Yeah. They're looking for late first round picks and 8 million dollar contracts that will actually cost the owner 15
