I agree with Cowherd. He hit the nail on the head. Teddy is going to be good. Manziel is potentially going to be good. I wouldn't mind either. We've all beat this to death - One is a safe pick, and the other is a potential huge payoff pick. In before Remii asks again why Teddy is a safe pick, and then ignores my detailed response and moves on to his next trolling victim.

Some of you need to learn the difference between Player Rankings and Mock Draft. One ranks the best college players individually and by position. The other is a prediction on who you think will be selected based on team needs and draft position. They are different lists.
Number one overall pick? What better way to get the hype train rolling. Of course he wants to play here.
We're on the same page with Mel. I don't care what guys like Mel, Tod, etc say... I only care about what the coaches and GMs say and if they're not talking I just use my own unprofessional opinion and or listen to other knowledgeable posters like yourself because at the end of the day it's all a guessing game. I was just bringing up the rankings because that's what most people in the Bridgewater thread point to when they jump down my throat and calling me names when I was just bringing a different opinion to the discussion.
Mel Kiper doesn't know what he's talking about. You ever watch any of his early first round mocks and you'll see he's 75% wrong. He gets better as he gets near draft day. But that's probably more about the consensus and inside info he gets than his scouting intelligence. Okay maybe that's a little harsh and to be fair it's a lot to expect Kiper to look at ever player and come up with decent mock this early but that's his job and ESPN expects him to do it even though it's mostly a joke. I've only been looking at QB's and a few pass rushers and I still have some uncertainties. How can he look at all the field and still do his job as a reporter.
Mel Kiper works for Disney. Disney is in the business of manufacturing fairytales. This is a cake baked just so people could get their nuts in a twist. Nothing to see here. He also had 2 Aggies going #1 (Joekel) & #2 (forgot his name already) overall last year as well. Didn't happen.
Johnny's stock is soaring right now: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...nziel-ranks-no-1-on-top-50-nfl-prospects-list
Mel is the face of a story. Someone elses story. This isn't his work. Mel stopped doing his work when he sold his soul to Mickey Mouse.
My apologies for you thinking I'm a troll because I don't agree with you about Teddy. Teddy is going to be good and Johnny has the potential to be good... Great details and I hear you loud and clear.
Nothing has changed since the bowl games. There's no news, no combines results or workouts or interviews to talk about, but it's the offseason and we want news. So ESPN creates news by using the biggest name in college football and puts him in a controversial draft position. If we are seriously open to trading this pick then the Texans should thank Mel for another smokescreen. Bridgewater is the consensus #1 QB, McNair has praised Clowney, now we're hearing around the league that Manziel is a serious candidate for the #1 pick, if some other team wants to be sure to get their guy and is willing to pay for it, they can't be sure that we're not going to take him. We also still have some time to be wowed by Barr's speed at the combine and talk about his fit in our 3-4 scheme.
Would everyone trust the team's choice and that those coaches know better than the people posting on this board? Also, a ton will depend on the Prodays. I doubt any of these QBs to do the combine.
Just go for it. Boom or bust with manziel. If he busts just pick a qb another time. What is everyone's confidence in texans with this pick? I say 45% chance they get it correct.
