Getting Jordan Crawford on this team would've been a disaster.

On a Bruce Bowen ESPN podcast last week they talked about if GS would keep Klay and Barnes and they basically concluded that they don't see both of them staying as GS would not be able to pay them both (which is a reason I hated how they got Iggy, but that's a side note) and they might trade one of them even as soon as the deadline. They then went into what GS might need and a low post presence came up and they're #1 trade proposal (again, all discussion, not based on inside information) was a Barnes for Asik swap.

I would be ecstatic to get Barnes for Asik.

It was a 3 way trade.

GSW gave toney douglas to miami. miami gave joel anthony and 2 daft pics to boston. boston gave up Jordan Crawfor and MarShon Brooks to GSW.

No way GS would agree on that one. They are very high on Barnes. Plus they have extended contract for Bogut.

They'll have to move either Klay or Barnes (or let them walk), I wouldn't mind taking back Klay either. The way it was presented made a lot of logical sense. Obviously getting the trade numbers to work will be hard between these two teams but the logic was there. Also, I highly recommend that podcast. Bruce knows what he's talking about and Israel Gutierrez is on it too who I think is very underrated.

The Rockets need a good backup for Harden. This trade would have helped prolong his career.

When it comes to Asik, you have to wonder why the best offer we got was 2 negative assets and a late 1st round pick. You could easily get the same offer without putting Asik on the table. It's like saying Asik has negative trade value when he doesn't. I believe the reason many NBA execs are bad mouthing Asik and the Rockets and using the media to only mention the negatives of his contract (and even lie about the figures) and never the positives has to do with something. And that something is the Rockets are 1 trade away from being serious and 1 injury away from being nothing again.

The Rockets can lose on the Asik trade and still get better due to the DNPs. I'm sure many WC rivals refuse to trade with Morey even if it means they win the trade at the cost of the Rockets getting better. The East is different. It's not as competitive and Boston is rebuilding, so they don't care if the Heat get Douglas. By the time they are contenders again, the Heat will be old. Also, the Heat got better via free agency and not trades after acquiring the big three. This is why cap management is just as crucial as it was before. Free agents will sign here for less to play for a contender and to save on taxes.

I'm sure all some WC teams have to hear is we are trading _______ to Houston and at least one team will jump in and swoop the trade.

How about Greg Monroe for Barnes + filler?

They have Drummond and signed Smith for the max,so he is the odd man out.

But MAN the Warriors would be nasty with Monroe.

So who was on the table? The Heat obviously wanted a PG so I am guessing it was Aaron Brooks. Maybe Morey tried to do the trade without Miami, but of course Boston wanted the picks. That would mean Morey didn't want Miami to get Aaron Brooks (instead of Toney Douglas...assuming he knew) or Miami did't want the Rockets to get Boston's players because they view us as a bigger threat than the Warriors. So much so that they didn't want the better player. That makes sense because Dwight would give them more problems than anyone on the Warriors, and the Warriors would easily get beat down by the Heat.

I agree GS would eventually trade either Klay or Barnes, but Asik won't do.

I would still do it,they could rest Bogut for the Playoffs and they don't need Defense if they score like they do.

Not sure if Detroit would do it.

They got marshawn brooks and Crawford for Douglas. What's even weirder is why Miami would even want Dougles. They already have two good point guards who's shown they can ball even in playoff time most espiceally. I'm just getting irritated were not trading for something. We don't even use half our roster. Casspi and Gracie may get minutes but that's literally about it. Ronnie brewer pretty much had no productivity and garcia is getting old n is not consistent. Mojitues never plays and Greg smith is either hurt or doesn't play. N don't even get me started on omer asik. Our bench is friggen horrible n our bench shooters are inconsistent and we have no athleticism coming off the bench either.

if you were miami and between aaron brooks and toney D, who would you want? the way they play, they can use toney's D more than ab's 3.

No, I think that Morey wants rotation worthy bench players... not these jokers.
