Are the Memphis Grizzlies back aka should we take them seriously

Courtney Lee is playing really well for them.

After a thrilling come from behind victory over the mighty pelicans, bringing the Grizzlies win streak up to a staggering 4 in a row... I can see why this particular thread was bumped.

Only a fool would underestimate the Grizzlies if they end up in the play offs.

Their size and grind it out style is especially well built to ground high flying, athletic teams like the Clippers and OKC.

Of the lower seeds, Memphis is the #1 team I wouldn't want to face. Even IF you beat them, your team takes a massive beating for the entire series and is exhausted going into the 2nd round.

 

I do not want to see them in the playoffs. I am really not wanting to see Dallas either. Dirk just goes crazy when he sees Rocket's red. The Mavs were tied with the Jazz last night with about five minutes remaining (estimate) and then just "went off" from the perimeter. I hate that about them. They are an annoying pain of a team.

 

Maybe they'll be able to make the playoffs and stop OKC again lol

Very true. The only thing is their margin for error is so small with that slow it down to a crawl, grind-down-the-clock style.

All the same......this is a team I dont want to see in the first round. Sorry. But unless we get the Twin Towers out after them I don't want to face those guys when they are healthy. Too much size on the interior negates Dwight and Jones. They'll dominate the interior and close out on our 3-point shooters making it hell for us offensively. And then offensively they'll just grind us down with Zach. This is all unless McHale comes to his senses and puts Asik alongside Dwight for big stretches of the game.

Remember, this team lost Gasol for a good portion of the season and struggled. But with him on the floor their winning percentage is .683. That would be virtually the same record as us.

 

I would love to see Dallas in the playoffs.
