Eventually isn't in the 2014 draft. And Winston is a freshman and Teddy is a 3 year player. You can make the comparison but I see no use in it. And by the way _ I NEVER said Teddy would suxk. I said Johnny is the better player. That doesn't automatically mean I think Teddy will suxk.
http://houston.cbslocal.com/2014/01/14/obrien-explains-what-type-of-quarterback-he-wants-in-houston/ ... Can you describe in your system a prototype NFL quarterback? This system that we run here has had all different kind of QBs. Everyone associates it with Tom Brady(and they should) but this system over the years has had mobile QBs, tall QBs, QBs who were 6'0 tall, QBs who were 6'5 and QBs who had all different types of skill sets. What you try to do is, you look at what's available to you and what's on the team and make sure the system fits the skill set of the players. ... Your thoughts on (these) college QBs? Bortles - I was able to see him up close because we played UCF at Penn State and they beat us. He's a smart player, accurate passer, a guy that can do a lot of different things, you can tell he's a student of the game. He's a good football player. Bridgewater - I haven't watched him much at all. I'm in the process of evaluating our team. I have seen him on TV. An exciting player. A guy that did a great job for Louisville and a guy that I can tell is a good football player. Manziel - Same thing with Teddy - I haven't watched a lot of Johnny. I watched him 2-3 games over the years he's played. Exciting player, a play-maker, a guy that does a lot of great things on the field. The ideal QB, does a guy who doesn't have the height/weight measurables, how much of a negative does that weigh into your evaluation? I think there's so many different things that go into it other than height/weight, all those things. Some of those things are important, like maybe the hand size, height/weight, maybe some of those things are factors at times. What else is important for a QB is, is he a winner? Is he a leader on his team? Is he a good locker room guy? Is he a great guy in the community? Will he study the game morning, noon and night and be obsessed with the game? Those are things that are very important for a QB. Off the field decision making - can you elaborate? It's really important for anyone on a football team to be the best person they can be. When you're a professional player in a city like Houston, there's so many things you can do to give back. We have great examples of that on our football team right now. When you leave this building, it's important to know everybody knows who you are and important have great character. Those are important things for any football player, not just a QB. ... Favorite nickname for yourself? It's OB. Romeo Crennel - excellent coach, even better person. A guy I've admired from afar. Next DC? The staff will be announced at some point.
I want you to list statistics on why Manziel is better. You have been asking for Bridgewaters, but have yet to supply Manziels. Show me why I should agree with what you have to say, instead of being annoying.
seems like he will evaluate this QB's soon.. At the moment he knows a little more about Bortles , because of course he played against him, therefore had to watch film on him before they played him.. Im sure he will start to watch films on all QB's, but I really think that his pick will come down to who is the more obsessed/smarter QB
He basically just described JJ Watt in regards to personality and work ethic. Are you telling me you wouldn't want more JJ Watt types at every position on the field?
I never asked for statistics for Teddy. You can go on ESPN and find that and you will see that Johnny threw for more yards and TD's with less completions and less sacs with more passing attempts than Teddy in a harder conference. So if stats are all you want _ there you go. And you don't have to agree with me and I'm only annoying to you because you choose for me to be. And that's because you and a couple of others think you know more than all. You're so full of yourselves. That's why when I bring up Teddy's weak conference _ you geniuses haven't figured out that obviously the conference Teddy played in may not matter to O'Brien (and Smith) because he likes Bortles who played in the same conference. But you smart expert quarterback evaluators haven't figured that out... Lol..
FYI your beloved JF threw 5 picks against Sam Houston St., SMU, and Mississippi St., which is more in 3 games than Teddy B threw the entire season.
Well, I played D-1 football in my time, so I assume I probably know a bit more than you do. You seem like some kid who has little idea what he is spouting off. If you think scrambling almost every passing down is going to work in the pros(I assume that's what you think, because that it what Johnny does), than you are just as stupid as the stuff you post on clutchfans.
Had some fun personalities in Cody, Barwin and Foster. Who are our three best players? Andre Johnson, Duane Brown and JJ Watt. Let me tell you...those guys are a damn riot! I want our QB and players to buy into the system and stop worrying about stuff OTHER than football. Think Manning and Brady allow "personalities" on their team? No, it's a one way ticket out of town quickly if that happens. Give me Teddy or trade back for Barr. At the NFL level everyone is gifted physically, you are separated by your dedication and work ethic. JFF and Clowney are likely going to get people fired.
He was a fantastic recruiter. Not only did he manage to get some top prospects to come to Penn State despite the sanctions (including Christian Hackenburg), he also managed to retain several key PSU players.
Good point sir... And he's not my beloved because as I stated before _ I believe there is not a QB in this draft worth an overall #1 pick.
You played D-1 ball... WOW...!!! That's fantastic and good for you. But Jerry Jones played D-1 ball and it seems he doesn't know 5h!t either.
