Fun fact - add up the sack #s for those 3 guys in 2012 (college) and 2013 (pro) and the number is nearly identical (14 vs. 15). Effort is a trait, too. If a guy has a low motor, there's no guarantee he's going to start producing once he gets paid.

Just wanted to go on the record in switching from the Clowney camp to the Bridgewater team.

Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith both say they would take Manziel over Bridgewater #1

This may be the stupidest thing I've ever read. Geno Smith = Spread QB
Even a paper bag knows that Bridgewater is a prototypical NFL QB.

The two stupidest ESPN personalities on the air. I do not know how they can be on the same show together. Whenever SAS is wrong he just yells louder and Bayless is just a moronic idiot who thinks he actually knows sports. I don't get how these guys have a career.

Being a prototypical NFL QB may also have something to do with a combination of size, arm strength and ability to make the throws, and accuracy. Geno possess a combination of those things. Playing in a pro system is just more of a plus showing that the QB can learn a pro system. But that doesn't mean that the QBs who played in a spread system can't learn. And QBs who played in a pro system don't always succeed.

And Geno had a dumpster fire of a receiving core. Those dudes are garbage and didn't help the rookie at all. It maybe a different story for Geno next year if they fix that receiving core. I know Skip meant it as a diss on Bridgewater, but it may not turn out to be one at all.

Because people watch the show, and thats what TV is all about...sure they (ESPN) could have a show that breaks down the X's and O's of every game but nobody would watch it. People like arguing and strong opinions with no real reasons for having those opinions. Have you ever listened to sports talk radio? Its the same thing.

    http://www.sbnation.com/nfl-mock-draft/2014/1/14/5307796/houston-texans-jadeveon-clowney-bob-mcnair

In an interview with his team's website, Houston Texans owner Bob McNair had a glowing opinion of South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

"He is a remarkable player," McNair said. "He's one of these players that's a once every 10 years kind of physical specimen. Mario Williams was that way. I think that Clowney is a better athlete than Mario, so that tells you what kind of player he can be."

McNair has even talked to his superstar defensive lineman J.J. Watt about Clowney.

"Like many of these fellas who have these great physical attributes, they didn't have to work as hard in junior high school, high school and college to be a superlative athlete because they have this natural ability," McNair said. "He's not a J.J. Watt. J.J. didn't have that natural ability. He worked. He developed his. One of the things I said to J.J. is 'I don't know what'll happen but if we get Clowney, we want you to instill in him the same kind of work habits that you have.' He said 'If he's in the same room as me, he'll have them."

McNair would be one to repeat history. He'll say that it takes defense to win the AFC and will throw SF and SEA as examples of the future.

Blah blah blah Texans trade for Kirk Cousins.

Lets just trade for Eli Manning, or Big Ben and draft Clowney..

Manning, Brady, Wilson, Kaepernick. All franchise QBs.

Take the QB. Now which one? Who knows.

To be fair, if he wanted to cite Seattle and SF as examples, he would take Clowney as the first pick, and then draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round. I just think Clowney is going to be Mario Williams 2.0. I don't want our #1 pick to constantly be questioned about his effort, desire to win, and work ethic. All of those things are going to haunt Clowney throughout his career.

Probably not. Ther's a good chance he said exactly what he meant. He likes to work when it's time to work. When the coaches say this is the time and this is what you need to do that's when he likes to do the work.

That's not a bad thing. He does the work when his told too. But is that the best attitude. Wouldn't you prefer a guy who likes to work when it's not time to work or a guy who is obsessed with work and wants to work 24/7. Clowney doesn't strike me as that type of guy. He is a gifted talented athlete who doesn't have the best motor perhaps because he doesn't have to and thus takes it for granted a bit IMO.

Of course that's what he is saying and there is the possibility or reality that he is not even that and that he likes to work when he wants on his terms and that would be even a level worse. Not saying he can't be successful with his attitude and work ethic whatever it is. Just his talent gives the possibility to great like JJ Watt but he is not there yet and he will never get there without a strong work ethic.

What do you guys think about Anthony Barr as the 1st pick? He is a great fit with Watt as well.

He's VERY raw and since we already don't know what we have in Travardo Williams I couldn't see picking Barr. Travardo looks like a slightly less athletic version of Barr.

Sure. If they trade down and pick up an additional 2nd.
