    Two lessons from this
    1. Don't throw popcorn at random strangers
    2. Don't shoot someone because they threw popcorn at you.

Texans calling Florida horrible is like a kid with no legs making fun of a kid with no arms. No offense to you or those people with those conditions, but I always laugh at when people in Texas bash Florida.

stuff like this can happen in any state where wannabe alphas and armed grumpy old men will go at it.

but countless, needless deaths of innocents is just the price you pay for freedom, right gun activists?

Just saw this movie today and was very distracted by the texting going on around me during the film. The very least these people could do is lower the brightness setting of the phone displays. I just hate going to the movies now.

This is why I always sit in the back where I can text to my heart's content.

Once I was watching a movie with a friend of mine in The Woodlands, and some doucher in the row behind me kept throwing popcorn at us. I don't know if he thought we were gay, or what(not that there's anything wrong with that)...In reality, I was just out to see a movie with a friend a few days before I moved away for good, and he was trying to impress a girl he was with. At first, I turned around and glared at him to let him know it wasn't okay. Then, towards the end of the movie, it happened again, so I turned around, armed with a Sour Patch Kid, and whipped it at his chest as hard as I could, and then stared him down. I waited for him outside the theater after the movie, but nothing ever happened.

    I guess I'm glad he didn't have a gun...

(Maybe it was someone that posts here)

I challenge you to find one quote where I claimed the young man deserved to die or that what the old man did was right. Go ahead find just one post by me where I make those claims.

I stand by my quote. "I'm having a hard time feeling sorry for someone who was being a jerk".

If your ass whole to enough people, sooner or later your going to be an ass whole to the wrong person. Just a tad bit of curtesy would have prevented the whole scenario.

This is where you are totally wrong, and what makes your posts so absurd that people just shake their heads.

You are describing it as if the lack of courtesy made the consequence quasi inevitable.

Billions of people are jerks to someone every day and don't get shot.

The reason this guy got shot is not a lack of courtesy. The reason is that some crazy old guy had a gun with him in a movie theater and murdered this guy over something completely petty.

And to go back to your first post on this thread:

An argument over texting and an alleged throwing of popcorn is NOT "an ass load of mitigating circumstances" when it comes to murdering someone. That statement alone shows that you got it all screwed up in your head.

You're an idiot. A really stupid idiot. Don't shoot me on that. I might just be antagonizing you.

But seriously, you're a moron. Bully or no bully, there's smarter and better ways to get back at someone without putting them six feet under. You dumb idiot.

I wonder if there is any chance for a lawsuit against the theater from either side of the family. Texting is typically always against a theater's policy and since the manager didn't come back with the old man this escalated to a murder.

Some just can't process how others could possibly have mixed feelings about this stuff. It's impossible in their minds for someone to simultaneously think the shooter's actions were egregious & he should go to jail, if they have anything less than maximum sympathy for the victim.

Think I'll skip grumpy cat, & my first thought after reading this story (about litterers).

sound is not a problem. if you can dim the light while texting then you're good.

It's obvious by the posts in this thread that everyone has hunkered down and sees what they want to see! The one underlying fact is, if you're going to be venturing out into public places, you do it at your own peril! You have no idea who you will come across, and what type of mental stability they might have, so it's in your best interest to try to avoid ANY type of confrontation, this is mostly done by following the rules and being respectful of others, but unfortunately, even this doesn't guarantee that you will return home alive.

No one deserves to die for texting, but you can die for far less than that IF you come across the wrong person, this is a lesson that we can ALL learn from this tragedy!

As Jontro pointed out, there's 2 benefits when sitting at the top of the topest row. You can text silently in low brightness without anyone noticing and also you can masturbate quietly too. I've managed to do both of these endeavors at the screening of Wolf Of Wall Street. Not one single act of gun violence happened if you do things the right way. Understand your surroundings at all times and please sit all the way at back row. Am I right Jontro?
