Voting is closed, and it's down to Ribery or Ronaldo (outside chance), but no one in Europe has been playing better than Louie Suarais.

    End of.

Messi looks like a waiter and Ronaldo's girl is on probation.

(1)Ronaldo- 66 goals in 56 games for club and country.
(2)Ballon d'Or= Individual excellence award not team award or team accomplishments/player trophies award.

I'm sure Ribery takes the Champions League title over some sympathy vote (people just felt sorry for Ronaldo having gotten beaten so many years in a row).

Lol I'll agree with you on that. Plus Messi had a "down" year compared to Ronaldo in terms of individual excellence.

I'm sure Ribery is loving his CLeague medal though. That definitely helps.

I agree with with ATW. Ronaldo and Messi did some outstanding job outside of winning titles. Individual jobs. Ribery would have deserved that as well.
His team won the most titles.

I am just going out on a leg and say FIFA cares more about scoring goals, bigger name than winning titles.
It's an individual award so I am not complaining.

Have to agree with my breh ferrari here, this is an individual award and Ronaldo definitely deserved it this year, he's been on a rampage and scoring numbers have been ridiculous. I consider Bayern's success to be the result of a perfect unit and system, Ribery didn't keep us alive with dozens of incredible performances or something like that. He also didn't have his greatest matches in CL, which should definitely considered, as someone like Robben has been a bigger factor for us in my opinion. And if you can't even choose a clear best player for a team, one definitely shouldn't receive an award like this.

So, I'm really okay with Ronaldo being awarded, but there are some things that make this event a joke.

1: Messi being #2 and in front of Ribery this year. He's been injured a long time and didn't help Barca, had some really piss poor performances where he completely disappeared and I think even hurt his team. Him receiving more votes than Ribery is a joke.

2: My biggest gripe, the World XI. Let's see, Bayern destroyed every team and especially rolled over Barca. What happens, Barca still has four players in the XI.
Let's see. Dani Alves over Alaba? What a joke, Alaba has been the best left back by far this season, had brilliant performances and didn't show any inconsistency.
Alves has just been mediocre or sometimes bad for like 1 1/2 years now, even Barca fans acknowledge this as a fact. Him being there instead of Alaba just shows how out of touch this event is.

Also, Xavi had one of his worst seasons but still made it over great central midfielders like Toure or Vidal, who dominated the position and have been constantly great for the whole season.

Then you have Iniesta, was he really better and more valuable than someone like Bale? I highly doubt it.

Also at CB, Sergio Ramos? Guys like Jerome Boateng deserve it way more. Remember how Lewandowski dropped 4 on Madrid? Ramos couldn't do ****. Bayern had the best defense and won everything, yet Boateng doesn't get a notch, although he played on a near perfect level and barely made any mistakes.

This whole event is full of mind-boggling decisions and a giant Barca/Madrid ass kissing contest. Two German teams in CL final, both with really dominant performances over Madrid/Barca, yet you still have six Barca/Madrid players in the World Top XI of the year, it's a complete joke.

I traveled extensively across Asia in the past few weeks, and am now in the USA. I think the Bundesliga (and also Bayern) does a very bad job of marketing itself abroad. When you look at who voted, all the captains of the small nations, what is it they see all the time on TV? Barca, Real and the Premier League. That way, the only way they even notice Bayern at all is when Bayern b**** slaps yet another team in the Champions League. But all of Ribery's great matches in the Bundesliga are basically wasted to that audience. I think that has something to do with it - because Ribery won with the journalists, but lost with the team captains of almost all those small nations.

And I definitely agree with you: Alaba over Alves, Schweinsteiger over Xavi, Robben or Müller over Iniesta and Boateng over Ramos should have made it in this year. Bayern's dominance over Barcelona was just that amazing. And yes, Lewandowski over Ronaldo. I said it. Head-to-head, Lewandowski killed Ronaldo's team. Or even Lewandowski over Messi. Hard to keep out Ibrahimovic, he is just too cool, and some of his goals were just amazing.

Zlatan "Ibra": Klopp, when are you signing me to Borussia (Dortmund)?
Klopp: Lol, I’d have to sell the whole team. Did you hear that? (to reporter)
    Ibra:Nah, I'd come for free.
wink*: But don't tell the President of Paris(PSG).
