Yeah, I'm talking about legacy, mostly. I'm just not seeing much from Love except stats. So, I will still say Melo is better right now, even. I won't argue that, though. It's just my opinion.

Hell, Francis and Mobley under Rudy did better than Love, and those were bad teams. 45 wins Francis/Mobley's 2nd year together with crap around them. Probably would have done it again except for the Francis injury. Love's teams have been last in their division each year. When do we stop giving him a pass for not translating stats into success?

Yeah I agree. He could be for us what Bosh is for Miami, but he will never take the Wolves to the playoffs...

My theory is he gets a pass for getting last in his division every freaking year, because it somewhat coincides with the rise in the popularity of online fantasy leagues. He is a must in fantasy league, easily a top 5 pick due to stats and position.

As well as his player rating in video games.

    I honestly believe that.

Perusing a Wolves board there was a thread of trading Love who Wolves fans see as leaving as soon as he can and many fans agreed is a fantasy stats stuffer but couldn't lead a team.

A rockets scenario was presented of Parsons, Jones, Asik and a pick.

    Would you do this deal?

    No.

If he wants to be here, we can nab him in free agency. I am not risking Parsons for his desire to go to LA.

Morey would say it is hard to deal Parsons...... then pull the trigger immediately.... a threesome of Harden/Howard/Love honestly would be on par with James/Wade/Bosh.... our depth would take a hit, but Morey would fill the holes.

Adelman doesn't care as long as the check clears.

He checked out mentally awhile ago.

Good point on James (best perimeter defender in NBA)...

Wade is hard to figure because he gambles too much...

    Bosh is meh defensively......

    Still....

Love? Not going to defend.... Harden? Depends on his mood.... Howard defends....

Still I am comfortable with Harden/Love/Howard against LBJ/Wade/Bosh.... Wade is getting old and Bosh only shows up 2 times a week.

As long as it wasn't going to upset Harden or Howard.

Would rather do Asik+Jones+Motiejunas+2014 and 2016 first rounders.

Yeah Parsons is the golden ticket for the third star though include him and deal is likely done. Morey is obviously going to do anything in his power to not include him of course. Trick is to swap Lin or Asik for another asset and use that instead.

Would not offer Parsons. Morey wouldn't offer Parsons. Morey would offer 14, 16, 18 first rounders and the opportunity to flip picks in the odd years. That would be more value than Parsons to Minny anyways.

I'd say you do the deal regardless. If Harden-Love-D12 truly mesh, at the very least, we win the west. No way Love walks away from that kind of success.

If they don't work out, Love is exposed as a stat stuffer and we wouldn't hurt too bad by him leaving in 2015:

Without Love and Lin's salary (expired), we would have substantial cap space to sign stars like LMA, Kyrie, Rondo or a rising talent/role player like Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, Thaddeus Young, Faried, Gogi, Boozer (ugh), Millsap, Marc Gasol, Vucevic.
