I guess standing up to management signals to other teams that you are a good leader. Munchak seems to be well-prepared and a good interview. Will be interesting to see how it plays out for him and the Texans.

Yes upposly the Lions are also very high on him... I dont think he will get the job for the Lions, but the Browns he might.. I hope the 1 yr firing of their former coach plays into his decision.. Alot of coaches are not wanting that Browns job

The Browns are desperate. That has to be the worst job in the league. No one makes it 2 seasons.

A lot of guys in Munchak's position don't want the job because they know it would probably be the end of their head coaching careers. If you fail your first time as HC, you might get a second shot. If you fail a second time then you're probably not going to get a 3rd opportunity. If you're a former head coach and believe you'll have other opportunities, you don't want to go to a place that has almost no chance of success (Cleveland). You only accept the Browns job if you think no other team is going to offer you a HC job in the next few years.

With only the Browns left for a HC job, does that put us in the lead for Munchak as OL coach??

And does anybody have any ideas on what we're thinking for OC?

I think it's pretty obvious it is either Mangini or George Godsey. Both of their respective teams are still in the playoffs though so a hire won't be made offical until either the 49ers or Patriots are out.

Thank you, I had no idea Mangini was on staff with the 49ers, that makes more sense why there were rumors and nothing definitive. Also somebody edited George Godsey's wikipedia to being the offensive coordinator for the Texans.

We're taking Manziel, no need for an OC. Manziel will be teaching O'Brien what's up here soon. I hope O'Brien is a good note taker, lots to learn.

Probably the same reason why everybody here was "fearing" he would succeed to close out last season, and be offered the job by McNair.

Sure, based on his history he should be considered over some of the other retreads.... but in the end, he's the oldest and most re-tread of the retreads.

Wade may have to go be a defensive "consultant" somewhere for a year and bide his time and maybe someone will give him a shot. But, I think the league may just view him as too old.

    ^^Ditto.^^

Sorry Wade, you probably do deserve better but teams aren't banging down the door for 66 year old head coaches.

Although I suppose Belichick, Coughlin, Shanahan, Carroll, Arians would argue otherwise, ha. All 60+ years old.

I can make a legit argument that the Browns have a better roster than the Texans... IMO, the only MUST-HAVE coach that was available this year was Lovie and he picked Tampa who have the best roster of all the teams who need coaches. I know they fired a coach after one year but they had front office changes during that time.

I think the Browns are waiting for the playoffs to be over so they can get one of the coaches off of San Francisco, Seattle, and Denver because they have some very good head coaching candidates on those teams..

I think they want Adam Gase (Denver's OC) Do you think Munchak would wsit a couple of weeks until the Brown decide? I Would think he would be wasting his time waiting on that Browns job. If he was really a legit Candidate they should have already offered him the job, instead they are waiting for other interviews.. I say Munchak will be the Texans OL coach soon? What do you think?

You also have Denver's DC as well (his name slipped my mind _ the jags old coach). I think we will end up with Munchak... And I certainly do want him here. Definitely need him.
